Robson cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Toledo on Friday. Robson made his big-league debut in 2021 and went hitless in four games, and he's now lost his spot on the 40-man roster. He spent most of the season at Toledo, where he hit .259/.385/.389 with five homers, 28 RBI, 36 runs and 15 stolen bases in 77 games.... See More ... See Less

Tigers' Jacob Robson: Sent to Triple-A
Robson was optioned to Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday. Robson was promoted to the big leagues last week and failed to collect a hit in his first four MLB appearances, going 0-for-7 with a run and four strikeouts. Dustin Garneau was acquired from the Rockies and added to the Tigers' 26-man roster in a corresponding move.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Jacob Robson: Receives big-league call-up
Robson will have his contract selected from Triple-A Toledo on Thursday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports. Robson was in major-league camp with the Tigers during spring training, and he'll receive his first taste of the big leagues with Niko Goodrum (groin) heading to the injured list. Akil Baddoo (concussion) and Derek Hill (ribs) also landed on the shelf Wednesday, so there should be significant playing time available in Detroit's outfield. Robson opened the season at Double-A Erie but posted a 1.243 OPS in 18 games to quickly earn a promotion, and he's continued to hit well at Toledo with a .280/.397/.440 slash line, though he also has a 35.9 percent strikeout rate.... Tigers' Jacob Robson: Joining Tigers for camp
Robson joined the Tigers as a non-roster invitee Saturday. Robson has spent his entire time in affiliated ball as part of the Tigers' organization but has yet to make his big-league debut. he posted a mediocre .267/.352/.399 line for Triple-A Toledo in 2019, though he did steal 25 bases. He spent the winter with the Sydney Blue Sox of the Australian Baseball League but is now back stateside with his former organization.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Jacob Robson: Suffers concussion Saturday
Robson suffered a concussion Saturday after he was struck by a foul ball in the dugout, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports. The exact severity of the injury is unclear, but Robson will likely be sidelined for at least several days as a result.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Jacob Robson: Sent to minor-league camp
Robson was assigned to minor-league camp Sunday, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports. Robson had failed to record a hit in 10 Grapefruit League at-bats. He will likely begin 2019 with Triple-A Toledo and look to build on a strong 2018 at that level, as he posted a .305/.369/.427 slash in 57 games (220 at-bats) with the Mud Hens.... See More ... Tigers' Jacob Robson: Available Saturday
Robson (hip) is listed as an available option off the bench for Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Braves, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports. The Tigers may choose not to use Robson off the bench Saturday, but the outfielder's availability signals that he's moved past the sore right hip that inhibited him earlier in the week. Robson will likely be assigned to the Tigers' minor-league camp in the near future and is expected to open the campaign at Triple-A Toledo.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Jacob Robson: Injury classified as sore hip
Robson relayed Wednesday that he's dealing with right hip soreness, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports. A report Tuesday classified Robson's injury as a leg strain, but the outfielder's own assessment of his condition implies a lesser concern. Robson noted that the Tigers' decision to shut him down for a few days is mainly precautionary, so there's a decent chance he'll be able to return to the lineup before Grapefruit League play comes to a close.... Tigers' Jacob Robson: Shut down with leg strain
Robson has been shut down due to a leg strain, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports. Robson is only expected to remain shut down for a few days. The young outfielder, who is expected to open the season at Triple-A, is hitless through eight at-bats so far this spring.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Jacob Robson: Back-to-back three-hit outings
Robson has gone 14-for-43 (.326 average) with a 5:11 BB:K over his past 10 games. After a strong start to the season at Double-A Erie, Robson earned a callup to the International League in late June and has continued to impress. Through 37 games at Toledo, Robson has slashed .322/.398/.466 while walking at an 11.5 percent clip. The 23-year-old hasn't turned in a batting average worse than .267 or an on-base percentage worse than .351 in any of his six minor-league stops, but a lack of high-end tools lowers his ceiling as a fantasy prospect. Between the two levels this season, Robson has provided only 10 home runs -- a career high -- to go along with an underwhelming 15-for-24 success rate on stolen-base attempts.... See More ...
