  Kwan went 3-for-5 with a double, a run, an RBI and a stolen base in a 4-2 win over the Dodgers on Monday. Kwan provided a big spark out of the leadoff spot, notching his third multi-hit game so far this season. The veteran outfielder knocked in the game's first run with a third-inning double and scored Cleveland's final run following a bunt single in the seventh. Kwan is off to a nice start to the campaign, slashing .318/.318/.364 through 22 plate appearances.

• Guardians' Steven Kwan: Will play some CF this spring

  Guardians manager Stephen Vogt said Thursday that Kwan will play some in center field during spring training, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports. Kwan has won four straight Gold Gloves for his defensive prowess in left field. He made four starts in center field in his rookie year in 2022, but the Guardians have resisted using him at the position on a regular basis. It seems that could change now as the club seeks its best defensive alignment. Chase DeLauter, Daniel Schneemann and Angel Martinez are the other main candidates to get reps in center field for Cleveland.

Kwan swiped two bags for the second straight night, but his biggest contribution came in the ninth when he delivered the go-ahead RBI single. The 28-year-old has hit safely in nine of his past 11 games, piling up four multi-hit efforts in six September contests. For the year, he's slashing .275/.333/.381 with 10 homers, 47 RBI, 70 runs scored and 18 steals across 599 plate appearances.

The second-half drop-off in 2025 is similar to what happened last year, when Kwan recorded a .206/.316/.302 slash line after the All-Star break.

Kwan also went 1-for-5 with two strikeouts and a run scored in the first game of the twin bill. The light-hitting outfielder has homered three times over his last three games, and he has eight RBI over eight contests dating back to July 12. For the season, he's slashing .286/.351/.413 with nine homers, 37 RBI, 50 runs scored, 20 doubles, one triple and 11 stolen bases across 98 games as Cleveland's primary leadoff hitter.

Kwan hadn't hit a home run since June 13, but he knocked out two for the first multi-homer game of his career Thursday. It was a rare display of power for the 27-year-old, who is up to just eight home runs on the year. He's much more known for his ability to get on base and limit strikeouts, which he continues to show this season with a .287/.352/.410 slash line with 38 walks and just 35 strikeouts in 376 at-bats.
