  • Yankees' Alexander Cornielle: Clears waivers

The Yankees outrighted Cornielle to the Florida Complex League on Thursday.

Cornielle was removed from the 40-man roster earlier this week, but he will remain in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. The righty held a 3.10 ERA and 74:41 K:BB over 72.2 frames this season with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

  • Yankees' Alexander Cornielle: Scrubbed from 40-man roster

The Yankees designated Cornielle for assignment Tuesday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the return of Giancarlo Stanton (calves). Cornielle gave up two runs over one inning in his major-league debut last week, and he held a 3.10 ERA and 74:41 K:BB over 72.2 frames this season during his time with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

  • Yankees' Alexander Cornielle: Called up for Game 2 of doubleheader

The Yankees selected Cornielle's contract from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre ahead of the second game of Friday's doubleheader against the Orioles, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Cornielle will give the Yankees an extra arm out of the bullpen for Friday's nightcap, and it would be the first appearance of his major-league career if he's called out to the mound against Baltimore. He's spent the majority of the 2026 season in Triple-A, where he has a 5-4 record over 17 games (16 starts) with a 3.10 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 74:41 K:BB over 72.2 innings.
