Michael Baron@michaelgbaron3H agoDiaz's AAV from the #Mets on his 5/102 deal was $20.4 million. His AAV from the Dodgers is $23 million. So basically, this came down to one extra year, and 9 extra million in AAV over three years for the best closer in baseball. Think about that for a second.

Michael Baron@michaelgbaron3H agoThere is nothing David Stearns can say to explain this away about Edwin Díaz. He left for a three year deal to an already established juggernaut in LA. How they couldn't beat that is just inexplicable. This is a big hit to the #Mets and the front office. Period.
