Foscue, 24, has had an excellent first season at Triple-A, slashing .277/.400/.498 with 10 home runs, seven steals, a 14.3 percent walk rate and an 11.7 percent strikeout rate. He can play second base, third base and first base, but the Rangers are pretty crowded at the big-league level, especially since Ezequiel Duran has capitalized on his opportunities this season.

Foscue homered for a second consecutive spring game. The second-base prospect improved his production at the plate in several areas during a full season at Double-A Frisco in 2022. When drafted in the first round of the 2020 draft, Foscue was considered the second baseman of the future, but the Rangers since signed Marcus Semien for that role. Last season's dalliance at third base (12 starts) indicates the organization is looking to find Foscue a home, but Josh Jung appears to have that position locked up. Foscue's bat could carry him to the big leagues, but his fielding is a concern. He had a miscue Saturday that was not an error because double-plays can't be assumed, but it did extend a multi-run inning for Kansas City. A fringy arm at second base will not improve at third, so perhaps a move to left field is in order. The Rangers are not settled at that position.
