Raptors' Jakob Poeltl: Double-doubles Friday
Poeltl provided 12 points (5-10 FG, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists and one steal across 23 minutes during Friday's 121-114 loss to the Magic.
Poeltl has endured a tough start to the season, but the veteran big man delivered his best outing by a wide margin Friday. Poeltl not only recorded his first double-double of the season, but also set new season highs in points, rebounds and assists. The previous benchmarks were really low, however, so the next step for the big man is to be more consistent on a game-to-game basis. His starting role doesn't seem to be in jeopardy, but he hasn't delivered a ton of fantasy value in the early stages of the campaign.

Raptors' Jakob Poeltl: Logs only 10 minutes due to foul trouble
Poeltl logged two points (1-1 FG, 0-2 FT) and two rebounds during Wednesday's 129-99 win over the Magic.
Poeltl barely saw the floor Wednesday due to foul trouble, and he finished with less playing time than backup big men Collin Murray-Boyles (15 minutes) and Trayce Jackson-Davis (20 minutes). Poeltl is off to an incredibly slow start to the regular season, with the veteran center averaging 2.8 points and 4.5 rebounds over 19.5 minutes per game. He seems to merely be a placeholder in the starting five, as the Raptors appear to be more content with Murray-Boyles, especially in high-pressure points during the game.

Raptors' Jakob Poeltl: Barely visible in heavy loss
Poeltl ended with zero points (0-2 FG) and one rebound in 19 minutes during Sunday's 117-94 loss to the Timberwolves.
Poeltl recorded a single rebound and no other stats, turning in what is likely his worst performance of the season. A modest start to the season has raised a lot of questions, particularly around his standard league fantasy value. Although it does appear as though he will be the starter moving forward, his playing and production have both been less than ideal. He remains a hold, for now, but could certainly be considered a drop in certain situations.

Raptors' Jakob Poeltl: Quiet in regular-season opener
Poeltl ended Wednesday's 135-92 win over the Bulls with three points (1-1 FG, 1-3 FT), six rebounds, one block and one steal over 22 minutes.
Four of the five Raptors starters scored 20 or more points during Wednesday's regular-season opener, but Poeltl was a non-factor on the offensive side of the floor. Collin Murray-Boyles came off the bench and made arguably a bigger impact on both ends of the floor, so the big-man duo could be looking at an even split in playing time to open the 2026-27 season.

Raptors' Jakob Poeltl: Expected to suit up Wednesday
Poeltl (rest) is expected to play in Wednesday's regular-season opener against Chicago.
Poeltl sat out Friday's preseason finale but should be back in action Wednesday. Across four preseason outings in 2026, he averaged 7.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.3 assists in 20.8 minutes per tilt.

Raptors' Jakob Poeltl: Out Friday
Poeltl (rest) has been ruled out for Friday's preseason game against the Pistons, Omari Sankofa II of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Poeltl will get the night off in the second half of this back-to-back set, though he should be good to go for Wednesday's regular-season opener against Chicago. With the big man out Friday, Trayce Jackson-Davis will likely see increased burn.

Raptors' Jakob Poeltl: Underwhelming performance
Poeltl closed with six points (2-2 FG, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one steal in 19 minutes during Tuesday's 148-98 preseason win over the Knicks.
Poeltl didn't offer much in the victory, although perhaps the fact that he continues to play serviceable minutes should be the biggest positive for prospective fantasy managers. Assuming he is healthy come opening night, the assumption is that he will be the starting center. However, given what went down last season, there is a chance his playing time is not what we would expect to see from a typical starting center. Those considering him in drafts should brace for a 25-minute per-night role.

Raptors' Jakob Poeltl: Looks healthy in preseason
Poeltl finished with nine points (3-3 FG, 3-4 FT), one rebound, one assist, two steals and one block in 18 minutes during Saturday's 129-105 preseason loss to Miami.
Poeltl's production on the glass was limited, but the bigger takeaway was his health after back issues restricted him to 46 regular-season appearances in 2025-26. The veteran center overhauled his strength and conditioning routine during the offseason in hopes of putting the lingering issue behind him, and he's reportedly moving much better entering the new campaign.

Raptors' Jakob Poeltl: Moving well ahead of camp
Poeltl is moving well and "looks good" ahead of training camp, Raptors general manager Bobby Webster said, according to Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun.
Webster added that spending time at home helped Poeltl reset ahead of the upcoming campaign. The positive update suggests the veteran center is in good shape entering camp, though his workload and status will be worth monitoring as Toronto begins preseason preparations. Injuries limited Poeltl to 46 regular-season appearances in 2025-26.

Raptors' Jakob Poeltl: Disappointing end to season
Poeltl registered nine points (4-5 FG, 1-4 FT), seven rebounds and two steals over 22 minutes during Sunday's 114-102 loss to the Cavaliers in Game 7 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Poeltl ended his season with another underwhelming performance, summing up what was basically a lost season for the veteran. An ongoing back injury was a major issue for the big man, limiting him both in terms of games and minutes played. In 53 appearances across the regular season and postseason, Poeltl averaged just 10.2 points, 6.9 rebounds and 0.7 blocks. He will likely come at a significant discount next season given the injury risk.

Raptors' Jakob Poeltl: Barely visible in Game 6 win
Poeltl closed with two points (1-3 FG), four rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals across 22 minutes during Friday's 112-110 overtime victory over the Cavaliers in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Poeltl had very little impact outside of his three combined steals and blocks. Cleveland ran a lot of big lineups Friday, while Toronto opted to go in the other direction, limiting Poeltl's opportunities. Through the first six games of the series, Poeltl has averaged just 18.7 minutes per game, putting up 6.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.0 blocks.

Raptors' Jakob Poeltl: Muted role continues
Poeltl closed Thursday's 126-104 victory over Cleveland in Game 3 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs with eight points (4-6 FG), six rebounds, two assists and one block across 18 minutes.
Poeltl continues to play limited minutes, resulting in what can only be described as modest production. Through three games, Poeltl has averaged just 4.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game. Despite Cleveland running with a sizeable lineup, Poeltl's apparent limitations have forced Toronto to counter with some small-ball looks.

Raptors' Jamal Shead: Starting sans Quickley
Shead is in the Raptors' starting lineup for Game 1 against the Cavaliers on Saturday.
Immanuel Quickley (hamstring) has been ruled out for Game 1, prompting the Raptors to move Shead into the starting lineup alongside Scottie Barnes, Brandon Ingram, RJ Barrett and Jakob Poeltl. Shead started 12 regular-season games, during which he averaged 11.5 points, 7.5 assists, 1.8 rebounds, 1.8 threes and 1.3 steals over 32.1 minutes per game.

Raptors' Jakob Poeltl: Quiet offensively in Game 1
Poeltl amassed four points (1-2 FG, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal over 21 minutes during Saturday's 126-113 loss to the Cavaliers in Game 1 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Poeltl logged 21 minutes in Game 1, putting him in line with the 21.9 he averaged in seven appearances in April to close out the regular season. However, the 30-year-old didn't do much offensively, recording only four points on two attempts, although he at least contributed to other statistical categories. Poeltl will look to be more productive offensively when these clubs meet Monday for Game 2.

Raptors' Jakob Poeltl: Limited to 20 minutes
Poeltl registered 14 points (7-9 FG) and two rebounds across 20 minutes during Sunday's 115-101 loss to the Celtics.
Poeltl had four fouls on the night which kept his minutes in check. He's been pretty solid over his last seven games, during which he has averaged 13.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.0 steals in 24.4 minutes per contest.
