Top PJ Dozier News

  • Magic's P.J. Dozier: Acquired by Orlando

Dozier (knee) and Bol Bol (foot) were traded from the Celtics to the Magic on Thursday in exchange for a future second-round pick, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Dozier was dealt from the Nuggets to the Celtics in mid-January, and he'll be on the move once again. He's already been ruled out for the season after he sustained a torn ACL in November and is slated to become an unrestricted free agent during the offseason, so it's possible that he never takes the court for the Magic.

Dozier (knee) was waived by the Magic on Thursday, Khobi Price of the Orlando Sentinel reports.

  • Celtics' PJ Dozier: Traded to Celtics

The Celtics acquired Dozier (knee) and Bol Bol (foot) on Tuesday in a three-team deal that sent Bryn Forbes to the Nuggets and Juancho Hernangomez and a 2028 second-round pick to the Spurs, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Dozier is out for the season with a torn ACL, so the trade won't affect his fantasy value in 2021-22. The 6-foot-6 wing is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, making it possible that he never dons a Boston uniform.

  • Nuggets' PJ Dozier: Torn ACL confirmed

Dozier (knee) suffered a torn ACL Tuesday against the Trail Blazers and is out indefinitely, Brendan Vogt of The DNVR.com reports.

As expected, Dozier will presumably be out the remainder of the year as a result of a torn ACL. He ends the season having appeared in 18 games with averages of 5.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 18.9 minutes. In his absence, more minutes could be available for Bones Hyland, Vlatko Cancar and Zeke Nnaji.

  • Nuggets' PJ Dozier: Torn ACL feared

The Nuggets fear Dozier suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during Tuesday's 119-110 loss to the Trail Blazers, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Dozier's injury certainly looked to be severe when he fell to the court on a collision at the rim during the first quarter of the contest and required assistance off the court from his teammates. According to Wojnarowski, initial imaging conducted on Dozier's knee suggested a long-term absence is likely, but the 25-year-old will presumably undergo additional tests before a diagnosis is confirmed. Regardless, Dozier looks destined to miss time, adding to the Nuggets' growing list of banged-up players. Reigning MVP Nikola Jokic is day-to-day with a sprained wrist and should return soon, but Jamal Murray (knee) is likely out through the All-Star break, while Michael Porter (back) could require season-ending surgery.

  • Nuggets' PJ Dozier: Carried off court

Dozier suffered a knee injury and had to be carried off the court by his teammates during the first quarter of Tuesday's matchup against the Trail Blazers, Mike Singer of The Denver Post reports.

Dozier landed badly after a shot attempt at the rim and instantly crumpled to the floor. Given his reaction and his teammates needing to carry him off, it wouldn't be surprising if he suffered a severe injury.

  • Nuggets' PJ Dozier: Plays 17 minutes in loss

Dozier (elbow) had two points (1-4 FG) and two rebounds in 17 minutes during Tuesday's 122-110 loss at Utah.

Dozier was considered probable with a left elbow injury, so it's no surprise he was available off the bench Tuesday. He's averaging 17.3 minutes through three games this season and should continue working as a reserve wing for Denver.

  • Nuggets' PJ Dozier: Probable Tuesday

Dozier (elbow) is listed as probable for Tuesday's contest against the Jazz.

Dozier landed on the injury report ahead of Tuesday's game with an elbow issue. It doesn't appear to be serious, but the Nuggets may elect to play it cautious with their reserve guard. If he misses the contest against the Jazz, Austin Rivers and Nah'Shon Hyland may see increased playing time.

  • Nuggets' PJ Dozier: Not on injury report

Dozier (ankle) is not on the injury report ahead of Wednesday's game against Phoenix.

Like several of the Nuggets' regulars, Dozier was held out of the preseason finale, but his sprained right ankle is apparently nothing to worry about. Expect the 2017 second-round pick to be among a handful of guards who help compensate for the absence of Jamal Murray (knee) to begin the 2021-22 season. Dozier will primarily battle Will Barton, Austin Rivers and rookie Nah'Shon "Bones" Hyland for minutes at shooting guard.

  • Nuggets' PJ Dozier: Moves to bench

Dozier will come off the bench for Wednesday's preseason game against the Thunder.

The 24-year-old will head to the bench for the first time this preseason with Will Barton (ankle) returning to action for Denver. Dozier should be one of the first options off the bench for the Nuggets this season after averaging 7.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 21.8 minutes in 2020-21.

  • Nuggets' PJ Dozier: Out Thursday

Dozier is out for Thursday's preseason finale against the Thunder due to a sprained right ankle, Katy Winge of Altitude Sports reports.

Dozier suffered the injury during Wednesday's preseason game, so it's not surprising that he's sitting out Thursday. There's nothing to indicate he'll miss the regular-season opener.

Dozier is in the starting lineup for Monday's preseason game against the Clippers, Law Murray of The Athletic reports.

Dozier started his past six appearances in 2020-21 before coming down with a groin injury which made him miss the last 17 games. The guard averaged 7.7 points and 3.6 rebounds in 50 outings with the Nuggets last year.

  • Nuggets' PJ Dozier: Returns to contact work

Dozier revealed Wednesday that he only recently returned to full-contact work, Harrison Wind of DNVR Sports reports.

Dozier missed the final 17 games (including playoffs) of the season due to a strained adductor, and his recovery extended well into the summer. The guard told the media Wednesday that before he returned to Denver, he hadn't played 5-on-5 since his final appearance of the regular season back on May 3 against the Lakers. Regardless, Dozier appears to be fully healthy with training camp set to begin next week. The former South Carolina standout will be part of the crew of guards who will help compensate for the absence of Jamal Murray (knee) to begin the season.

Dozier (groin) is listed as out for Game 4 against the Suns on Sunday.

Dozier will continue to be sidelined in this series due to a groin injury. It could be the last game of the season for Denver, which would give Dozier plenty of time to recover from the injury.
