Top Ivica Zubac News

  • Pacers' Ivica Zubac: Still out with ankle sprain

Zubac (ankle) is out for Friday's game against the Heat.

The Pacers continue to view the veteran big man as day-to-day due to an ankle sprain. Jay Huff figures to continue to start at center for the Pacers on Friday, while Obi Toppin could see a larger share of the frontcourt minutes.

  • Pacers' Ivica Zubac: Won't play Wednesday

Zubac (ankle) is out for Wednesday's game against the 76ers.

Zubac isn't ready to return from an ankle sprain, but the veteran big man remains day-to-day. Jay Huff figures to continue starting for the Pacers in the meantime, with Obi Toppin (hand) also helping plug up the hole at center.

  • Pacers' Ivica Zubac: Walking without boot

The Pacers don't have a timetable for Zubac's return after he suffered a left ankle injury Sunday against Brooklyn, but he was able to walk without a boot Monday, Dustin Dopirak of The Indianapolis Star reports.

Coach Rick Carlisle stated that the big man had a lot of swelling immediately following Sunday's game, but that Zubac was doing better Monday. The team will presumably continue to evaluate him over the next few days to determine when he can return to game action. In the meantime, look for Jay Huff, who drew the start at center Monday night against Milwaukee, to see opportunities with the first unit.

  • Pacers' Ivica Zubac: Listed out for Monday

Zubac (ankle) is out for Monday's game against the Bucks.

No surprises here after coach Rick Carlisle hinted at Zubac's absence following his injury Sunday night. The center is dealing with some swelling, but it's currently unclear how long this will sideline him for. Look for Jay Huff and possibly Larry Nance to pick up some minutes in the meantime.

  • Pacers' Ivica Zubac: Doubtful for Monday

Head coach Rick Carlisle said that X-rays on Zubac's sprained left ankle came back negative, but he's got some swelling and is unlikely to play Monday in Milwaukee, Scott Agness of FieldhouseFiles.com reports.

Zubac rolled his ankle during Sunday's game, and with a quick turnaround, it seems unlikely he'll be ready to roll by Monday. Jay Huff started the second half of Sunday's game and finished with 14 points (5-6 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, three assists and three swats over 21 minutes, so he could make for an attractive streamer Monday.

  • Pacers' Ivica Zubac: Won't return Sunday

Zubac (ankle) will not return to Sunday's game against the Nets.

Zubac left the game in the first quarter after rolling his left ankle and will not be able to return. Indiana plays the second half of the back-to-back set tomorrow against the Bucks, making it likely that Zubac will be forced to miss time. Jay Huff figures to see an expanded role while Zubac is out.

  • Pacers' Ivica Zubac: Questionable to return Sunday

Zubac is questionable to return to Sunday's game in Brooklyn due to a left ankle sprain, Pat Boylan of FanDuel Sports Network Indiana reports.

Zubac rolled his ankle stepping on Kelly Oubre's foot, and while he tried to play through it for a few possessions, he eventually requested out and limped back to the locker room. Larry Nance, Jay Huff and Obi Toppin would help pick up the slack if Zubac needs to miss time.

  • Pacers' Ivica Zubac: Pulls down 11 rebounds in loss

Zubac amassed nine points (4-7 FG, 1-2 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists and one block over 24 minutes during Friday's 121-105 loss to Dallas.

Zubac was impressive on the offensive glass while pulling down four rebounds on that end, and it was his second straight game with double-digit boards. He also only got to the line twice, so the 1-for-2 mark at the stripe won't do your fantasy team much damage. Zubac will be a solid field-goal percentage booster and an elite source of rebounds this season.

  • Pacers' Ivica Zubac: Big double-double in opener

Zubac ended Wednesday's 123-120 victory over the Pelicans with 16 points (7-12 FG, 2-4 FT), 15 rebounds and two blocks across 34 minutes.

Zubac went toe-to-toe with New Orleans' Yves Missi down low, with both big men posting big double-doubles in the season opener. Now healthy following an injury-plagued 2025-26 campaign, Zubac should be a strong source of swats and boards to go with a high field-goal percentage going forward.

  • Pacers' Ivica Zubac: Cleans up on glass

Zubac registered 13 points (6-7 FG, 1-1 FT), 13 rebounds, five assists and three steals across 18 minutes in Tuesday's 114-112 overtime loss to Oklahoma City.

Zubac wasted little time making his presence felt, pulling down five offensive rebounds and recording a double-double despite playing fewer than 20 minutes. The veteran center also flashed his passing ability with five assists and disrupted Oklahoma City's offense with three steals. His work around the basket was particularly sharp, as he converted six of seven field-goal attempts.

  • Pacers' Ivica Zubac: Scores 11 points with five boards

Zubac totaled 11 points (4-6 FG, 3-6 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block over 21 minutes in Saturday's 119-117 preseason loss to the Hawks.

Zubac looks healthy, which is great to see after he was limited to just 48 games last season (five with the Pacers). He's been pretty durable throughout his career, so Zubac appears primed for a bounce-back season as the main man in the middle for Indiana.

  • Pacers' Ivica Zubac: Meshing well with teammates

Zubac said he's already making progress developing chemistry with Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam after getting his first extended work with the duo during the Pacers' players-only minicamp, Alex Golden of SI.com reports.

The big man said playing with Haliburton felt "really natural" and doesn't expect it to take long for the two to jell due to the point guard's high basketball IQ. Zubac also focused on improving his conditioning during the offseason to better handle Indiana's pace and revealed that he's been working on expanding his shooting range, though his primary focus remains playing to his established strengths.

  • Pacers' Ivica Zubac: Efficient double-double

Zubac registered 24 points (8-10 FG, 8-11 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 30 minutes during Croatia's 101-99 win over the Netherlands in Sunday's FIBA World Cup qualifier.

Zubac co-led the club in scoring alongside Dario Saric on Sunday, and the former paced Croatia in boards as well. Zubac is set to begin the new season as Indiana's starting center following an injury-riddled 2025-26 regular season, when the veteran center averaged 14.1 points, 10.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 30.1 minutes per game across 48 appearances between the Clippers and Pacers.
