Smith registered 20 points (8-14 FG, 4-8 3Pt), 10 rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block in 36 minutes Saturday against Delaware. Smith scored 12 of his 20 points from beyond the arc and also notched a double-double with his success on the glass. This marks his second double-double in his last three appearances.... See More ... Nets' Dru Smith: Leads bench in scoring
Smith tallied 13 points (6-12 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 0-1 FT), 12 rebounds and two assists in 30 minutes Monday against Grand Rapids. Smith led Long Island's reserves in scoring, rebounds and minutes. He didn't find much success from deep, but he fared better inside the three-point arc, knocking down 50.0 percent of his field-goal attempts.... See More ... See Less -
Nets' Dru Smith: Will be present Sunday
Smith will be on Brooklyn's bench during Sunday's matchup against Oklahoma City, Alec Sturm of NetsDaily.com reports. Smith, who recently signed a two-way deal with Brooklyn, will presumably be available for the first time in a Nets uniform. Before signing with Brooklyn, the undrafted product out of Missouri was playing for Miami's G League affiliate -- the Sioux Falls Skyforce -- and averaged 17.8 points in 33.8 minutes across 15 appearances.... Nets' Dru Smith: Signs two-way deal
The Nets signed Smith to a two-way deal Friday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Smith had been playing for Miami's G League affiliate -- the Sioux Falls Skyforce -- this season and averaged 17.8 points in 33.8 minutes across 15 appearances. He made five appearances with the Heat during that stretch, posting 2.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 13.4 minutes per game. Smith figures to report to the Long Island Nets after signing the deal, but he could get an NBA look soon, as Brooklyn continues to target depth contributors with Kevin Durant (knee) sidelined.... Dru Smith: Nears triple-double
Smith logged 12 points (4-9 FG, 1-2 3PT, 3-4 FT), 13 assists, nine rebounds, one steal and one block across 31 minutes of Wednesday's 132-130 win over Texas. Smith was incredible Wednesday, posting team highs in assists and rebounds while approaching a triple-double. He should continue to be a primary contributor for the Skyforce and could receive some NBA looks if he maintains this form.... See More ... See Less -
Dru Smith: Stuffs statsheet
Smith recorded 24 points (10-20 FG, 1-7 3PT, 3-4 FT), six assists, five rebounds and five steals in 40 minutes of Sunday's 123-110 win over Ontario. Smith put together a strong two-way performance, logging 24 points on 50 percent shooting while leading the Skyforce in steals with five. Through three regular season games, Smith has averaged 23.3 points,7.3 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 3.7 steals across 39.6 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -

Dru Smith: Cut by Miami
The Heat waived Smith on Sunday, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports. He'll cede his two-way roster spot to Orlando Robinson, whom Smith previously replaced on the roster in late November. Assuming he clears waivers, Smith will likely remain in the Miami organization and report to the G League's Sioux Falls Skyforce.... See More ... See Less -
Heat's Dru Smith: Drops out of starting five
Smith will not start Saturday's game versus the Spurs. Smith received a spot start Thursday while Kyle Lowry got a rest, but he'll return to a bench role Saturday with Lowry back in the mix. Smith hasn't seen a ton of action when the regulars are available, so he shouldn't be counted on for a major impact against the Spurs, even with Gabe Vincent (knee) out.... See More ... See Less -
Heat's Dru Smith: Gets first career start Thursday
Smith will start Thursday against the Clippers. Smith is coming off one of his best G League performances of the season, during which the guard recorded 26 points, six assists, and four rebounds. The guard will receive his first ever start for the Heat in place of Max Strus (shoulder). So far with Miami, Smith has played in only four games, and he's averaging 11.5 minutes, 2.3 points and 2.0 rebounds.... See More ... See Less -
Heat's Dru Smith: Drops 26 points
Smith recorded 26 points (10-13 FG, 5-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six assists, four rebounds and one steal in 29 minutes during Sunday's 142-96 win over the Herd. Smith's workload was limited due to the blowout, but he overcame the limitations with incredible efficiency from inside and out. Smith's 26-point outburst was just short of his season-high 28 points, but his 76.9 percent shooting was his best mark yet.... See More ... See Less -
Heat's Dru Smith: Sent to G League
Smith will join the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the G League, Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press reports. Smith will serve a brief stint with the team before returning for the Heat's matchup with Memphis on Monday. Smith has been called to action with the Heat plagued by injuries lately, allowing him to see 15 or more minutes in two consecutive contests in late November. However, when the Heat are healthy Smith will not factor into the rotation.... See More ... See Less -
Heat's Dru Smith: Decent showing across board
Smith amassed five points (2-3 FG, 1-1 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 21 minutes during Sunday's 106-98 win over Atlanta. Smith saw action in his second straight game since signing a two-way contract with the Heat on Friday, and he's shouldered a decent workload in each contest. While he's unlikely to have much of a scoring impact, he's packed the stat sheet in both matchups, registering at least one rebound, assist, steal and block. Miami was once again without Jimmy Butler (knee) on Sunday, while Gabe Vincent (knee) did not play despite being listed as available prior to tip-off.... See More ... See Less -

The Heat assigned Smith to Sioux Falls Skyforce of the G League on Friday, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Heat's Dru Smith: Makes NBA debut
Smith tallied two points (1-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt), one rebound and one steal in six minutes during Wednesday's 119-98 win over Portalnd. Smith showed why Miami views him as a positive defender, recording a steal in his first NBA game. However, Smith shouldn't be expected to have anything more than a reserve role this season.... Heat's Dru Smith: Inks two-way deal with Miami
Smith signed a two-way contract with Miami on Wednesday, Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press reports. Heat's Dru Smith: Showing defensive prowess
Smith averaged 12.0 points, 3.0 steals, 1.7 assists and 1.7 rebounds in 22 minutes throughout three Summer League games. Smith was a standout on Miami's Summer League team. He led the league in steals and was a menace on the defensive end. The Heat have a very strong track record of developing undrafted players in the last few years with Gabe Vincent, Max Strus and Duncan Robinson. The Heat have had a quiet offseason so far, but they may be looking for internal improvements from guys like Smith, who went undrafted in 2021.... See More ... See Less -
Heat's Dru Smith: With Heat for Summer League
Smith (knee) was added to the Heat's Summer League roster and is presumably healthy, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Smith played eight G League games last season with the Heat's affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce, and averaged 14.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.3 blocks. However, a season-ending knee injury in February cut his debut campaign short. That said, the Missouri product is presumably healthy and should see the court for the Heat during 2022 Summer League.... See More ... See Less
