Warriors' Usman Garuba: Inks two-way deal with Golden State
The Warriors signed Garuba to a two-way contract Friday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Garuba will split time between the NBA and G League for the Warriors in 2023-24. The 21-year-old forward averaged 3.0 points and 4.1 rebounds in 12.9 minutes across 75 appearances for Houston last year.

Usman Garuba: Cut by Oklahoma City
Garuba was waived by the Thunder on Monday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
Garuba was traded from Houston to Atlanta in early July before being re-routed to Oklahoma City a week later. However, he wasn't able to maintain a roster spot with the Thunder and will now seek out another opportunity ahead of training camp. In his second NBA season in 2022-23, Garuba appeared in 75 games for the Rockets and averaged 3.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 12.9 minutes per contest.

Thunder's Usman Garuba: Re-directed to OKC
The Hawks traded Garuba, TyTy Washington, Rudy Gay and a second-round pick to the Thunder in exchange for Patty Mills on Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Garuba and Washington were both traded to Atlanta last week but will now head to Oklahoma City. Garuba will likely compete for a depth role in the Thunder's frontcourt.

Garuba finished with two points (1-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt), two rebounds and one block over nine minutes during Friday's 112-109 win over the Hornets.
Garuba barely saw the court in the victory, continuing what has been an underwhelming season. Despite head coach Stephen Silas running some awful rotations at times, Garuba has failed to take advantage of his limited opportunities. While Garuba has youth on his side, it's hard to see him being anything more than a minor piece, at least for the foreseeable future.

With Alperen Sengun sitting out (groin), the Rockets went small for the majority of Monday's game, but Garuba was able to make an impact in minimal minutes by knocking down two shots in a row from deep in the middle of the fourth quarter. It gave Houston an eight-point cushion after a surging Boston team was making a comeback. The young big also put up some decent rebounding and assist numbers in his short time on the court. It's an atypical amount of production from him though, as he also went scoreless over his last three contests prior to Monday's win.
