  • Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Dealt to Cleveland

Mitchell was traded Thursday from the Jazz to the Cavaliers for three unprotected first-round picks, two pick swaps, Lauri Markkanen, Collin Sexton and Ochai Agbaji, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. After discussions between Utah and New York failed to gain necessary traction, Cleveland emerged as a suitor for the three-time All-Star guard. Mitchell joins a talented young roster with All-Star point guard Darius Garland, All-Star center Jarrett Allen and an extremely promising forward in Evan Mobley. It may take some time for Garland and Mitchell to figure out the give-and-take in usage, but neither player should take a massive hit. Mitchell is coming off his age 25 season with averages of 25.6 points on 45/36/85 shooting, 5.3 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 33.8 minutes.

  • Jazz's Donovan Mitchell: Likely to be dealt before camp

The Jazz intend to trade Mitchell before training camp, Sam Amico of reports. Mitchell has been discussed as a trade chip since the Jazz traded Rudy Gobert to the Timberwolves in a deal that netted the team four first-round picks and a handful of players. While Utah was initially hesitant to move Mitchell, that has changed and appears to have reached a point where the team is hoping to get a deal done ahead of the season. By most accounts, the Knicks are the favorites to land him.

  • Jazz's Donovan Mitchell: Posts well-rounded effort in loss

Mitchell produced 23 points (9-17 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds, nine assists and one block across 39 minutes during Thursday's 98-96 loss to the Mavericks. Mitchell bounced back from an ugly nine-point, 4-for-15 performance in Game 5 while playing through injuries to his hamstring and quads that initially put his status for the contest in doubt. The All-Star guard led Utah in points and assists and trailed only Rudy Gobert for the team high in rebounds, but his performance wasn't enough to carry the Jazz to a Game 7 showdown. Mitchell ended the series with per-game averages of 25.5 points, 5.7 dimes, 4.3 rebounds and 0.7 steals.

  • Jazz's Donovan Mitchell: No minutes restriction for Game 6

Mitchell (hamstring, quads) will be available to play without a minute restriction in Thursday's Game 6 contest against the Mavericks, Brad Townsend of The Dallas Morning News reports. According to coach Quin Synder, Mitchell is ready to play with no minutes restriction in the Game 6 win-or-go-home matchup. The 25-year-old guard has been dominant since the start of the series, averaging 26.0 points, 5.0 assists and 3.6 rebounds. Expect Mitchell to see nearly 40 minutes of action as he's averaging just over 38 minutes per game so far this series.

  • Jazz's Donovan Mitchell: Says he'll play in Game 6

Mitchell (hamstring, quads) practiced Wednesday and said he's "good to go" for Thursday's Game 6 against the Mavericks, Brad Townsend of The Dallas Morning News reports. Mitchell noted he was more concerned when he thought the injury was hamstring-related. However, now that he knows the pain is only due to bruising in his legs, he's prepared to play through it in Game 6. It's a win-or-go-home matchup for Utah. So far in the series, Mitchell is averaging 26.0 points, 5.0 assists and 3.6 rebounds, but he's shooting just 37.9 percent from the field and 19.5 percent from distance.

  • Jazz's Donovan Mitchell: MRI negative, optimistic for Game 6

An MRI of Mitchell's left hamstring came back negative Tuesday, but the All-Star is still dealing with bruising in both of his quadriceps and may be sidelined for Thursday's Game 6 against Dallas, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Mitchell left Monday's Game 5 loss in the fourth quarter with a hamstring injury and never returned. While it appears the hamstring injury isn't serious, the All-Star is reportedly dealing with bi-lateral quadriceps contusion and will continue treatment around the clock ahead of Game 6. Wojnarowski relays that there remains optimism Mitchell be available for the win-or-go-home matchup, but it remains to be seen how effective he'll be if he's ultimately available. After averaging 30.3 points through the first four games of the series, Mitchell posted just nine points (4-15 FG, 0-7 3Pt) across 32 minutes during Game 5.

  • Jazz's Donovan Mitchell: Suffers hamstring injury

Mitchell went to the locker room with a left hamstring injury during Monday's Game 5 against Dallas and will be re-evaluated Tuesday, Eric Walden of The Salt Lake Tribune reports. The severity of Mitchell's injury is unknown at this point, but his availability for Game 6 will be a key factor in this series. He's set to undergo an MRI on Tuesday. If Mitchell is unable to go Thursday, Utah will need to lean more heavily on Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Jordan Clarkson.

  • Jazz's Donovan Mitchell: Pops for 23 in Game 4 win

Mitchell finished with 23 points (7-21 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 7-9 FT), six rebounds, seven assists and two steals in 38 minutes during Saturday's 100-99 win over the Mavericks. After scoring more than 30 points in each of the first three games of the series, Mitchell devoted more energy to his defensive duties as the Jazz were able to even the series at 2-2. He's averaging 30.3 points, 6.0 assists, 4.0 boards and 2.0 threes so far in the first round, but with Luka Doncic back in action for the Mavericks, Mitchell may need to raise his level of play once again heading into Game 5 on Monday.

  • Jazz's Donovan Mitchell: Hits for 32 in Game 3 loss

Mitchell registered 32 points (10-21 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 11-12 FT), two rebounds, six assists and one block in 39 minutes during Thursday's 126-118 loss to Dallas. The 25-year-old guard has topped 30 points in all three games so far in the series, averaging 32.7 points, 5.7 assists, 3.3 boards and 2.0 threes, but Utah still finds itself in a 2-1 hole despite his scoring efforts. If Mitchell is going to find another gear to help the Jazz advance, it might have to come at the defensive end of the court.

  • Jazz's Donovan Mitchell: Leads team with 34 points

Mitchell contributed 34 points (13-30 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 5-5 FT), two rebounds and five assists over 41 minutes during Monday's 110-104 loss to the Mavericks. Michell heaved up 30 shots in the loss, which marked his second-highest shot total of the season. He connected on only three of his 10 three-point attempts, but his shot volume salvaged his fantasy total. Through two games, it is evident that this series will be won and lost in the backcourt, and Mitchell can't do it alone. Mike Conley did little to alleviate the pressure on Mitchell in Monday's loss, and the team will need solid numbers from both guards if they hope to regain the series lead.

  • Jazz's Donovan Mitchell: Leads offensive charge

Mitchell racked up 32 points (10-29 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 10-11 FT), six rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal across 41 minutes during Saturday's 99-93 victory over Dallas. Mitchell wasn't especially efficient, though his struggles were mostly limited to the first half. He led the team in points and assists, unsurprisingly acting as the main driver of the offense. His 10 made free throws were his most since New Year's Day.

  • Jazz's Donovan Mitchell: Off injury report

Mitchell (illness) is not on the injury report for Saturday's Game 1 against the Mavericks. As expected, Mitchell will be fine for Game 1 after missing the final game of the regular season. Since March, he's averaged 25.8 points, 5.7 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 34.6 minutes.

  • Jazz's Donovan Mitchell: Ruled out Sunday

Mitchell (illness) is out Sunday against the Trail Blazers, Sarah Todd of The Deseret News reports. Mitchell is dealing with a non-COVID illness and will be unavailable for the regular-season finale. Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Jordan Clarkson should see additional run against Portland, while Mitchell will have just under a week to recover prior to the playoffs.

  • Jazz's Donovan Mitchell: Dealing with non-COVID illness

Mitchell has been downgraded to questionable for Sunday's game against the Trail Blazers due to a non-COVID illness, Tony Jones of The Athletic reports. With only one game remaining in the regular season and the Jazz all but locked into either the fifth or sixth seed, it seems likely Utah will be cautious with their superstar guard. This is certainly a concerning development with the playoffs right around the corner, but the Jazz avoided the play-in tournament so Mitchell will have until April 16 to clear the issue.

  • Jazz's Donovan Mitchell: Rough night, Jazz blow another lead

Mitchell had 18 points (7-21 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and one steal in 35 minutes during Friday's 111-105 loss to the Suns. Utah blew yet another huge fourth-quarter lead, this time getting outscored 36 to 13 in the final period to squander a 17-point advantage. Mitchell struggled from the field throughout the night, adding to the mini-slump he's been mired in since the calendar flipped to April. Over his last three games, Mitchell is a combined 21-of-64 (32.8% FG) from the field.

  • Jazz's Donovan Mitchell: Resting on back-to-back

Mitchell will be rested for Wednesday's game against Oklahoma City. The Jazz played an overtime game against Memphis on Tuesday night, so Mitchell will get the night off against an inferior opponent on the second half of the back-to-back. Mike Conley will also rest for Utah. Expect both players to return to action Friday against Phoenix.

  • Jazz's Donovan Mitchell: Struggles from field in OT win

Mitchell chipped in 20 points (6-24 FG, 1-9 3Pt, 7-8 FT), nine rebounds, five assists and one steal across 41 minutes during Tuesday's 121-115 overtime victory over the Grizzlies. While the Jazz were able to pull out the win at home in overtime, it wasn't a banner night for Mitchell, who hit just six of his 24 field goal attempts and struggled mightily from beyond the arc. He's down to 28.3 percent from deep over his last seven games, though dating back to the start of February (26 games), Mitchell is averaging 4.0 made threes per game on 37.9 percent shooting.

  • Jazz's Donovan Mitchell: Ties for team scoring lead in loss

Mitchell supplied 26 points (8-19 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 6-7 FT), three rebounds, three assists and two steals in 33 minutes during Saturday's 111-107 loss to Golden State. Though Mitchell tied Mike Conley for a team-high 26 points Saturday, he finished with an inefficient 8-for-19 shooting line. The star guard did knock down four three-pointers, marking his second straight game with a 4-for-10 effort from beyond the arc. Mitchell is averaging 28.7 points, 5.2 assists, 4.3 boards and 3.9 treys over his past 12 games.

  • Jazz's Donovan Mitchell: Paces Jazz with 29 points

Mitchell logged 29 points (11-22 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 3-4 FT), one rebound, seven assists and one steal over 32 minutes during Thursday's 122-109 win over the Lakers. Mitchell converted at least half of his shots for the sixth time in his past 10 games, and he hit 25-plus points for the ninth time over that span. The star guard also led Utah with seven assists and turned the ball over only once. Mitchell averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 dimes, 4.1 boards and 3.8 three-pointers across 16 games in March.

  • Jazz's Donovan Mitchell: Leads team with 33 points

Mitchell chipped in 33 points (12-21 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 9-12 FT), two rebounds, six assists and one steal over 36 minutes during Tuesday's 121-115 loss to the Clippers. Mitchell was red-hot early in the game and helped the Jazz jump out to a 22-point lead heading into the second quarter, but Utah let the Clippers back into the game in the second half. Despite the loss, it was a nice bounce-back game for Mitchell, who suffered through one of his worst performances of the season in a loss against Dallas. Otherwise, Mitchell has been extremely reliable as a fantasy producer, with four performances of 30-plus points over the past six games
