Porter (personal) racked up 20 points (7-11 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and six rebounds over 29 minutes during Saturday's 126-119 loss to the 76ers. It was all hands on deck for Denver in a marquee matchup against Philly, as Porter returned from a three-game absence while attending to a family matter and scored 20 or more points for only the third time in January, although he has drained multiple threes in 10 of 12 contests on the month. The 24-year-old continues to play a complementary role behind Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray in the Nuggets offense, but if the oft-injured Porter can stay on the court, he could see his numbers rise in the second half of the season.... Nuggets' Michael Porter: Ready to play Saturday
Porter (personal) will take the floor Saturday against the 76ers. Porter held a questionable designation on the initial injury report but will return Saturday following a three-game absence for personal reasons. Porter is averaging 15.5 points and 5.0 boards over 28.0 minutes per game in his 11 January appearances and will claim his usual spot in the starting five.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Michael Porter: Now listed as questionable
Porter (personal) is questionable for Saturday's matchup against the 76ers. Porter, who's missed three straight games for personal reasons, was initially omitted from the injury report, but his availability is still in question. If the 2018 first-round pick is ruled out again, Bruce Brown (knee) figures to remain the primary beneficiary, though Christian Braun and Vlatko Cancar would also be candidates for increased playing time.... Nuggets' Michael Porter: Not on injury report
Porter (personal) isn't on the injury report for Saturday's game against the 76ers. Porter rejoined the Nuggets in Philadelphia on Friday, and he's been cleared to return from a three-game absence due to a personal matter. Bruce Brown (knee) will likely take on a bench role with Porter back in action. Over his five appearances prior to his absence, Porter averaged 16.8 points and 5.2 rebounds in 28.8 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Michael Porter: Questionable Saturday
Porter (personal) is questionable for Saturday's game against the 76ers, Mike Singer of The Denver Post reports. Porter has missed the last three games due to a personal matter but rejoined the Nuggets in Philadelphia on Friday. While it's not yet clear whether he'll be able to suit up Saturday, he appears to be getting closer to returning to the court. Once he's back in action, Bruce Brown will likely retreat to the bench.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Michael Porter: Sitting out Wednesday
Porter (personal) will not take the floor Wednesday versus the Bucks, Mike Singer of The Denver Post reports. Porter will miss out on his third consecutive game while tending to a personal matter, and it's unclear exactly when he will be ready to rejoin the team. His next opportunity to do so arrives Saturday in Philadelphia. His absence should allow Bruce Brown to draw another start, and the Nuggets will be running out a skeleton crew with four starters unavailable.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Michael Porter: Questionable again
Porter (personal) is questionable for Wednesday's matchup in Milwaukee. Porter has missed back-to-back games due to a personal matter within the family and is a question mark for Wednesday's contest. He's one of five Nuggets who are listed as questionable for the second half of a back-to-back set, so Denver may be extremely shorthanded for a matchup against the Bucks, who recently lost Bobby Portis (knee) for a few weeks but are closer to full strength than they've been all season. If Porter is downgraded to out again, his next chance to suit up won't come until Saturday in Philadelphia.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Michael Porter: Out Tuesday
Porter (personal) is out Tuesday against the Pelicans, Mike Singer of The Denver Post reports. Porter will miss a second straight game as he attends to a personal matter within the family. Bruce Brown should continue to start at small forward in Porter's absence.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Michael Porter: Considered questionable for Tuesday
Porter (personal) is questionable for Tuesday's contest against the Pelicans, Mike Singer of The Denver Post reports. Porter missed Sunday's game against the Thunder due to personal reasons and is in jeopardy of missing a second straight contest. Nikola Jokic (hamstring) and Bones Hyland (finger) are also questionable, so Denver could be extremely shorthanded against a struggling Pelicans squad.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Michael Porter: Won't play Sunday
Porter (personal) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Thunder, Katy Winge of Altitude Sports reports. Porter was labeled as questionable a few hours before Sunday's tipoff, and he'll be unable to take the court against Oklahoma City while tending to a personal matter. His next opportunity to play will be Tuesday against the Pelicans, while Bruce Brown, Christian Braun and Davon Reed could see increased run Sunday.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Michael Porter: Questionable Sunday
Porter is questionable for Sunday's game against the Thunder due to personal reasons. Porter wasn't on the Nuggets' initial injury report Sunday, but it's unclear whether he'll be able to suit up against Oklahoma City. If he's sidelined, Bruce Brown, Christian Braun and Davon Reed are candidates to see increased playing time.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Michael Porter: Does little in win
Porter notched four points (1-6 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, one block and one steal over 22 minutes during Wednesday's 122-118 victory over the Timberwolves. Denver is one piece away from running away with the Western Conference, and many believe that Porter is the missing link. Unfortunately, Porter still struggles with consistency problems that have plagued him throughout his tenure in Denver. Porter's 13-game absence put the brakes on an encouraging start to the season. Although his results since returning have also shown promise, he'll occasionally put up a clunker like he did Wednesday night. While there is sometimes a correlation between Porter and Aaron Gordon, it wasn't the case in Wednesday's win, as Gordon also had trouble generating offensive numbers.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Michael Porter: Hot shooting in easy win Tuesday
Porter posted 23 points (9-13 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and four rebounds in 31 minutes during Tuesday's 122-113 win over the Trail Blazers. Porter had things going on the offensive end Tuesday, knocking down four triples for the second game in a row. However, he added little outside of the scoring column, which puts a cap on his overall fantasy value. At this point, Porter is a player whose floor almost matches his ceiling. He sits just outside the top 80 in per-game value in nine-category leagues for the season, a rank he should be able to maintain without much trouble moving forward.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Michael Porter: Bounces back with 22 points
Porter had 22 points (9-17 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal across 32 minutes during Friday's 115-103 win over the Clippers. Porter struggled to put up meaningful scoring totals over the past two weeks, but he snapped the drought with a much better result in Friday's win. Granted, there was a lot of production to absorb in Nikola Jokic's (wrist) absence, and Porter was heavily involved in the effort with 17 shot attempts, his second-highest shot total of the season.... Nuggets' Michael Porter: Scores empty 18 points in loss
Porter accumulated 18 points (6-9 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and one block in 27 minutes during Monday's 124-111 loss to the Timberwolves. Porter managed 18 points in the loss but unfortunately, struggled elsewhere. Despite being a top-75 player thus far, it feels as though Porter has yet to hit his stride. He is currently averaging 16.7 points per game, including 2.8 three-pointers. While that is nice enough, managers would love to see him adding some tangible peripheral contributions to his nightly boxscore.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Michael Porter: Drops 30-piece in victory
Porter logged 30 points (12-20 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists and two steals over 30 minutes during Tuesday's 113-106 victory over the Kings. Porter bounced back after a poor performance on Christmas Day, dropping at least 30 points for just the second time this season. After recently returning from a lengthy injury layoff, Porter had struggled to find his offensive rhythm prior to Tuesday. The Nuggets need him to take on a larger piece of the offensive pie, which he will attempt to do moving forward.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Michael Porter: Remains on minutes restriction
Porter will remain on a minutes restriction during Sunday's Christmas Day matchup against Phoenix, independent NBA writer T.J. McBride reports. Porter returned to the court Friday against the Trail Blazers and logged 18 points, five rebounds, two assists and a steal in 27 minutes. While coach Michael Malone didn't specify how much Porter would play Sunday, it wouldn't be surprising to see him with a workload similar to the one he had against Portland.... See More ... Nuggets' Michael Porter: Starting but on minutes restriction
Porter (heel) will start Friday's game against the Trail Blazers, but he'll be under a minutes restriction, independent NBA reporter T.J. McBride reports. As expected, Porter will return to action for the first time since Nov. 22, but he'll be limited while working his way back to full strength. Bruce Brown has shifted to a reserve in Porter's absence, but the versatile forward should still see a sizable role off the bench. Before his absence, Porter averaged 16.4 points in 29.1 minutes across his first 16 appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Michael Porter: Will return Friday
Porter (heel) indicated Thursday that he will retake the floor for Friday's game versus the Trail Blazers, Chris Dempsey of Altitude Sports reports. He is officially questionable. Porter rejoined the team at practice Thursday, seemingly signaling he could retake the floor Friday. He confirmed as such following the session. Per Mike Singer of The Denver Post, Head coach Michael Malone suggested that Porter is the team's starting small forward moving forward but also granted that he will likely return on a minutes restriction. With that information all in hand, Porter appears set for a limited starting role Friday, likely bumping Bruce Brown to the bench.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Michael Porter: Returns to practice
Porter (heel) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Mike Singer of The Denver Post reports. Porter has missed the last 13 games with a heel injury. While the 24-year-old forward doesn't yet have an injury designation for Friday's matchup with Portland, his return to practice is a good sign of his availability. If Porter doesn't suit up versus the Trail Blazers, his next chance to play will be Sunday's game against the Suns.... See More ... See Less
