  • Magic's Anthony Black: Game-high seven assists off bench

Black finished Wednesday's 106-102 win over the 76ers with 10 points (5-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt), five rebounds and seven assists in 30 minutes. It was Black's first time in double scoring figures since a Nov. 25 win over Charlotte, and his seven assists were his most since a Nov. 20 loss to the Clippers. The former first-rounder remains fairly raw offensively, so his production can be erratic, but he's clearly starting to pull away from Cole Anthony as head coach Jamahl Mosley's preferred backup point guard. Over his last 10 contests, Black is averaging 8.6 points, 3.7 assists, 2.2 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 0.8 three-pointers in 23.0 minutes per game. He should continue to orchestrate Orlando's second unit on offense and play disruptive defense off the bench going forward.

  • Magic's Anthony Black: Starts in second half Saturday

Black ended Saturday's 111-100 win over the Pistons with 11 points (3-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), one rebound, five assists and two steals across 32 minutes. Black started in the second half of Saturday's game after Jalen Suggs suffered a hamstring injury in the first quarter. Black scored seven of his 11 points in the second half, and he could be inserted into the Magic's starting lineup against the Hornets on Monday if Suggs is unable to play.

  • Magic's Anthony Black: Tallies season-high four steals

Black contributed six points (2-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, six assists, one block and four steals over 25 minutes during Wednesday's 94-90 win over the Pacers. Despite not being a volume scorer, Black continues to make a positive impact off Orlando's bench. The second-year guard's four steals were a season high, and he also tied his most assists in a game this year with six. Across his 13 appearances in 2024-25, Black is averaging 7.9 points, 4.2 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 24.6 minutes.

  • Magic's Anthony Black: Provides spark off bench

Black totaled 10 points (4-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-3 FT), six rebounds and four assists across 28 minutes during Wednesday's 116-97 win over the Heat. Black played the second-most minutes behind Paolo Banchero for Orlando in Wednesday's win as the Magic started to pull away from the Heat in the second half. Black had a quiet rookie season but should continue to operate as one of the team's primary bench options in the backcourt.

  • Magic's Anthony Black: Solid display off bench

Black finished with 11 points (3-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-5 FT), six rebounds and an assist across 19 minutes off the bench in Wednesday's 107-97 preseason loss to the Spurs. Black was one of two Orlando players who scored in double digits in this loss, with Jett Howard, who delivered a team-high 19 points, being the other. Black has shown glimpses of his quality in Orlando's first two preseason games. Still, and regardless of how good he looks in these games, he's ticketed to open the season as a depth option in the backcourt since Jalen Suggs and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will be the starting duo at the one and two, respectively.

  • Magic's Anthony Black: Gets starting nod

Black is in the starting five for Wednesday's game versus the Wizards. Black will replace Gary Harris (calf) in the starting lineup Wednesday. The rookie guard is averaging 5.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.1 steals in 22.1 minutes across his last 10 starting appearances.

  • Magic's Anthony Black: Moves back to bench

Black isn't in the starting five for Tuesday's game versus the Nets, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports. Black will be replaced by Gary Harris (calf) in the starting lineup Tuesday. The rookie guard is averaging 3.0 points and 1.2 rebounds in 10.8 minutes across his last five appearances coming off the bench.

  • Magic's Anthony Black: Not in starting lineup

Black isn't starting Thursday's game against the Cavaliers, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports. Black drew a start in Orlando's final game before the All-Star break and logged four points, two rebounds, two assists and a steal in 23 minutes. However, he'll retreat to the bench since Jalen Suggs (groin) and Gary Harris (calf) are back in action Thursday.

  • Magic's Anthony Black: Back to bench

Black won't start Friday's game against the Grizzlies. As expected, Black will return to the bench in favor of Markelle Fultz, who's returning to action after missing Monday's loss to Cleveland due to rest. In 11 games as a reserve, Black has averaged 5.6 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.3 steals-plus-blocks in 15.4 minutes per game.

  • Magic's Anthony Black: Returns to starting lineup

Black will start Monday's game against the Knicks, Philip Rossman-Reich of OrlandoMagicDaily.com reports. From Nov. 4 through Jan. 5, Black started 28 of 30 games, averaging 5.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 21.4 minutes during that stretch. He operated off the bench in each of the last four games, and after three poor outings, he posted 13 points, four rebounds, a steal and a block in 33 minutes against the Thunder on Saturday. He'll look to build off that momentum versus New York. In a corresponding move, Chuma Okeke will head to the bench.

  • Magic's Anthony Black: Iffy for Sunday

Black (illness) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus the Hawks. Black is in danger of missing Sunday's contest due to a non-COVID illness that caused him to leave Friday's game early. If the rookie guard is ruled out, Cole Anthony will likely receive increased playing time.

  • Magic's Anthony Black: Starting against Denver

Black (illness) is in the starting lineup for Friday's game against Denver. Black was a late addition to the injury report and was previously considered questionable, but he'll attempt to play. The Magic are extremely shorthanded Friday, so Black could see a significant amount of minutes if he can handle it.

  • Magic's Anthony Black: Coming off bench

Black won't start Wednesday's game against the Kings. Black will come off the bench for the first time since Nov. 9 after playing just 13 minutes Tuesday. Despite his removal from the first unit, Black should still handle a significant role as a reserve ball-handler due to Cole Anthony's (quad) absence.

  • Magic's Anthony Black: Sets career highs in points, steals

Black closed with 23 points (9-13 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six rebounds, four steals and one assist across 33 minutes during Tuesday's 127-119 win over Washington. Black continues to handle a regular starting role in the absence of Markelle Fultz (knee), but he's been one of the NBA's least-productive fantasy contributors on a per-minute basis. After averaging just 4.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.4 blocks, 0.3 steals and 0.3 three-pointers in 20.6 minutes per game in his prior 20 outings as a starter, Black came out of nowhere Tuesday to establish new career highs in points, three-pointers, rebounds and steals. Perhaps Tuesday's big effort inspires Black to look for his shot more frequently, but fantasy managers should put more weight into the 20-game sample that preceded what looks to be an outlier performance.

  • Magic's Anthony Black: Best game of season Friday

Black totaled 13 points (5-8 FG, 3-5 3Pt), nine rebounds and four assists over 28 minutes during Friday's 128-111 loss to Boston. Black had his best game of the season Friday, posting career-best numbers in points, rebounds and assists despite the 17-point defeat. The Magic have been patient with Black amid the growing pains in his rookie year, and while he should remain in a starting role as long as Markelle Fultz (knee) remains sidelined, his fantasy upside remains limited.

  • Magic's Anthony Black: Efficient scoring in limited time

Black amassed 11 points (5-5 FG, 1-1 FT) over 15 minutes during Wednesday's 121-111 loss to the Cavaliers. Black played just 15 minutes despite starting, but he was still able to finish with double-digit points on the strength of a perfect shooting performance. Although he has been the primary fill-in for Markelle Fultz (knee), his lack of production has limited his fantasy value. At this point, there is little reason to consider him, even in deeper formats.

  • Magic's Anthony Black: Starting role yields little

Black chipped in five points (2-7 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one steal across 23 minutes during Tuesday's 126-107 victory over Toronto. With Markelle Fultz (knee) sidelined, Black continues to start for the Magic but has failed to make the most of his situation. The rookie has been in the opening unit for six consecutive games and has totaled just 25 points and eight assists. Despite the starting tag, Black is not worth rostering outside of deep formats.

  • Magic's Anthony Black: Gets starting nod

Black is in the starting lineup for Saturday's game versus Milwaukee. With Markelle Fultz (knee) being a late scratch, Black will replace him in the starting lineup. The rookie guard has averaged 9.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 31.5 minutes across his previous two starts this season.

  • Magic's Anthony Black: Scores 11 points in first start

Black tallied 11 points (4-6 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one steal across 30 minutes in Saturday's 120-101 win over the Lakers. Making his first career start while Markelle Fultz (knee) was sidelined, Black played turnover-free basketball over his 30 minutes of court time but took on a minuscule 8.2 percent usage rate, the lowest among all nine of the Magic's rotation players on the day. Though his fantasy value will be on the upswing if Fultz misses more time, Black's line from Saturday doesn't inspire much confidence that he'll offer major upside during his rookie season.

  • Magic's Anthony Black: Set to make first career start

Black is in the starting lineup for Saturday's game versus the Lakers. Black will replace Markelle Fultz (knee) in the starting five Saturday. The rookie guard has had a limited role to start the season, averaging just 4.7 points, 1.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 8.3 minutes across his first three appearances. However, Black will get the chance to run the offense alongside Jalen Suggs in the backcourt Saturday.
