Trail Blazers' Nassir Little: To miss at least a week
Little (ankle) will miss at least a week as he deals with a sprained left ankle, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports.
Little was held out of Tuesday's win over Detroit, and if this timetable holds up, he'll be set to miss at least three more contests, beginning with Thursday's home matchup against the Spurs. Norman Powell (quad) is currently questionable for that contest, so if both he and Little sit out, the Blazers -- who will be without Damian Lillard (abdomen) for at least 10 days -- could be quite shorthanded on the wing.... Little registered 13 points (6-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 0-1 FT), 14 rebounds, two assists, one block and two steals in 28 minutes during Friday's 104-92 win over the Rockets.
Little isn't known for being a reliable offensive threat in Portland's scheme, and this was just the third time he scored in double digits all season long. This could easily be classified as his best game of the campaign after putting up season-high marks in both points and rebounds, but it would be a stretch to imagine him putting up these kind of figures on a regular basis going forward, especially if he's coming off the bench.... Little totaled 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt), four rebounds, one assist, two steals and two blocked shots over 32 minutes Monday in a loss to the Clippers.
With Norman Powell sidelined due to a knee injury, Little stepped into the starting lineup and was one of the more productive Blazers in the ugly loss. Though his performance wasn't earth-shattering, Little finished as one of four Portland players with double-digit scoring and converted over half his shot attempts on a night when the team shot only 38.1 percent from the field collectively. Little also chipped in with a pair of steals and blocked shots on the defensive end, which could help him retain a starting role for however long Powell remains out.... See More ... See Less
