  • Timberwolves' Jaden McDaniels: In cast, out indefinitely

Minnesota announced Monday that McDaniels fractured his third and fourth metacarpals in his right hand, has been placed in a cast and will be out indefinitely.

McDaniels punched a wall in the Timberwolves' tunnel on the way to the locker room at halftime of Sunday's win over the Pelicans and was almost immediately ruled out for the contest. The third-year forward has been an integral part of Minnesota's starting unit this season, posting 12.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.9 steals-plus-blocks in 30.6 minutes across 79 appearances (all starts). Rudy Gobert (suspension) and Naz Reid (wrist) will also miss the team's Play-In matchup versus the Lakers on Tuesday, so Taurean Prince and Kyle Anderson will presumably play major roles in the frontcourt.

  • Timberwolves' Jaden McDaniels: Diagnosed with fractured hand

McDaniels has been diagnosed with a fracture in his right hand after he punched a wall during Sunday's 113-108 win over the Pelicans, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. He finished with zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt), one rebound and one steal in nine minutes prior to departing.

Seemingly out of frustration, McDaniels took a swing at the wall in the Timberwolves tunnel on the way to the halftime locker room, and the team quickly ruled him out for the remainder of the contest. While Minnesota went on to defeat the Pelicans, the Timberwolves will now head into their Play-In Tournament matchup against the Lakers on Tuesday without the services of their most versatile defender. Minnesota also sent starting center Rudy Gobert home at halftime after he punched teammate Kyle Anderson during a timeout in the second quarter, resulting in the team's regular season ending on a sour note in spite of the win.

  • Timberwolves' Jaden McDaniels: Injures hand punching wall

McDaniels won't return to Sunday's contest against the Pelicans due to a right hand injury.

McDaniels was caught on camera punching a wall in the tunnel en route to the Timberwolves' locker room, so it appears that's where he sustained the injury. The Wolves have ruled him out for the remainder of Sunday's game, and his status will be worth monitoring very closely ahead of the Play-In Tournament.

  • Timberwolves' Jaden McDaniels: Sneaky two-way effort Tuesday

McDaniels had 15 points (7-13 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 0-1 FT), six rebounds, one block and three steals over 41 minutes during Tuesday's 107-102 victory over the Nets.

McDaniels got it done on both ends of the floor, building on what has been a nice stretch of games. In fact, over the past three games, McDaniels has recorded 12 combined steals and blocks, while also posting 40 points and six made three-pointers. While his season has been a bit up and down, he remains a must-roster player, currently sitting just outside the top 100 for the season.

  • Timberwolves' Jaden McDaniels: Bounces back with 20 points

McDaniels finished Monday's 119-115 win over the Kings with 20 points (8-15 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds, two assists and two steals in 39 minutes.

McDaniels scored just one point in 10 minutes during Sunday's three-point win over Golden State, but he bounced back with a stellar performance during the second half of Minnesota's back-to-back Monday. Across 12 March appearances, the third-year forward has averaged 15.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals-plus-blocks in 31.3 minutes per game.

  • Timberwolves' Jaden McDaniels: Pops for 25 points Wednesday

McDaniels closed Wednesday's 125-124 win over Atlanta with 25 points (9-17 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 6-7 FT), six rebounds, four assists and two blocks over 36 minutes.

Though the Timberwolves welcomed Karl-Anthony Towns (calf) back to their forward ranks following an absence of nearly four months, McDaniels didn't see his playing time suffer. In fact, he proceeded to tie his career-best scoring mark while also turning in useful returns in other categories. Though McDaniels is running hot at the moment with averages of 19.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.0 three-pointers, 1.9 assists and 0.9 blocks in 33.3 minutes per game over his last seven outings, he'll still be a candidate to see his playing time and usage take a hit sooner rather than later. While he wasn't hurt by Towns' return Wednesday, the Timberwolves were still without star shooting guard Anthony Edwards (ankle), who missed a third straight contest but appears likely to re-enter the lineup this weekend.

  • Timberwolves' Jaden McDaniels: Scores career-high 25 points

McDaniels ended with 25 points (7-15 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 7-8 FT), six rebounds, four assists and one steal across 45 minutes during Friday's 139-131 double-overtime loss to the Bulls.

McDaniels' 25 points mark a new career high for the high-flying forward. He showed the full display offensively, taking players off the dribble and shooting from the perimeter with confidence as he hit four triples for the seventh time in his career. With Anthony Edwards rolling his ankle pretty good Friday, McDaniels may have more offense flowing through him after this display.

  • Timberwolves' Jaden McDaniels: Provides solid offensive game

McDaniels accumulated 19 points (8-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two blocks, one rebound and one steal in 26 minutes during Monday's 136-115 win over Atlanta.

McDaniels' big night got off to a fast start as he scored eight of Minnesota's first 12 points. The Hawks had Trae Young defending McDaniels, but Atlanta had to change their defensive matchups, as the size discrepancy proved to be a challenge. The 22-year-old has consecutive games with at least 15 points and has rejected a shot in six straight appearances, his longest stretch of the season. He doesn't produce in many other categories though, limiting his overall fantasy value.

  • Timberwolves' Jaden McDaniels: Excels against Clippers once again

McDaniels amassed 20 points (8-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 35 minutes during Tuesday's 108-101 victory over the Clippers.

McDaniels seems to have the Clippers' number. After dropping an 18/4/3 line on them back in January, he came to Crypto.com Arena and put up another excellent number. McDaniels' February results fell a bit short of expectations, however. Over 11 games, he averaged 12.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
