  • Wizards' Johnny Davis: Enters COVID-19 protocols

Davis has entered the league's health and safety protocols. Davis has been in the G League with the Capital City Go-Go recently, but he'll now be away from the team due to the league's health and safety protocols. He'll presumably remain with the G League club once he's deemed healthy.

  • Wizards' Johnny Davis: Scores 14 points Saturday

Davis delivered 14 points (7-17 FG, 0-4 3Pt), three steals, two rebounds and an assist across 18 minutes in Saturday's loss against Westchester. Davis was one of three Go-Go starters in double figures, but he didn't have a good performance in terms of efficiency and finished with more shot attempts (17) than points scored (14). The 10th overall pick of the 2022 NBA Draft hasn't looked overly remarkable in the G League thus far. He's averaging just 12.6 points while shooting 43.3 percent from the field.

  • Wizards' Johnny Davis: Questionable Sunday

Davis (groin) is questionable for Sunday's game at Boston. Davis isn't a consistent rotation player. His presence won't affect fantasy.

  • Wizards' Johnny Davis: Labeled questionable Friday

Davis is listed questionable for Friday's game versus the Heat due to right groin soreness. Davis has logged a combined 11 minutes over the past pair of games with the Wizards' backcourt banged up, but they've been largely uneventful. Even if he's cleared to play Friday, Davis is just a depth piece at this point.

  • Wizards' Johnny Davis: Struggles from field Friday

Davis had 15 points (6-17 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, an assist and a steal across 32 minutes in Friday's win over Maine. Davis is averaging 15.0 points per game this season and continues to prove he can be a solid contributor at the G League level, but he needs to work on his consistency before he can be a consistent contributor for the Wizards at the NBA level. The 10th overall pick of the 2022 NBA Draft is making 45.3 percent of his shots from the field and 44.4 percent of his three-point attempts, but he's prone to have off games from time to time. Friday's contest was the best example, as he needed 17 shots just to score 15 points.

  • Wizards' Johnny Davis: Puts up 18 points against Maine

Davis recorded 18 points (7-16 FG, 4-8 3Pt), five assists and four rebounds across 32 minutes in Thursday's loss against Maine. Davis has appeared in five of Capital City's six games to start the season, and the results have been encouraging, as he's scored at least 13 points in all but one game while also posting decent numbers in other categories. Through those five appearances, the 10th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft has averaged 15.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists while making an impressive 47.8 percent of his three-point attempts.

  • Wizards' Johnny Davis: Returns to Wizards

The Wizards recalled Davis from the Capital City Go-Go of the G League on Thursday. Davis' stint in the G League was short, but he is expected to bounce back and forth between the Go-Go and Wizards throughout the season. Bradley Beal (illness) remains out for Thursday's game versus the Mavericks, but there is no guarantee Davis will see playing time.

  • Wizards' Johnny Davis: Sent back to G League

The Wizards assigned Davis to the Capital City Go-Go of the G League on Wednesday. Davis didn't play in Monday's game against the Hornets, despite being available. It is not a good sign for Davis' fantasy managers that he is not receiving playing time even with Bradley Beal (illness) out. The 2022 No. 10 pick should have more opportunities to develop in the G League.

  • Wizards' Johnny Davis: Struggles from field

Davis had 13 points (3-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal across 25 minutes in Saturday's loss against Raptors 905. There's no question Davis has all the tools to become a star in the league, but his first taste of action at the G League level didn't go so well. He struggled massively from the field, but Davis should adjust sooner than later and is expected to be one of Capital City's go-to players on offense as the season advances.

  • Wizards' Johnny Davis: Headed to G League

Davis will join G League Captial City on Saturday for the team's season opener. Davis struggled throughout Summer League and the preseason and hasn't etched out a particularly large role early in his career, so the rookie will head to the G League in an attempt to iron things out. Depending on how things go, Davis could spend a decent amount of time with the Go-Go.

  • Wizards' Johnny Davis: Sees garbage time minutes in loss

Davis registered two points (1-3 FG) and one rebound over eight minutes during Sunday's 112-94 loss to the Celtics. The 2022 first-round pick was a DNP-CD in the Wizards' first three games, but he's now seen limited action in each of the last three contests. He's been aided by the fact that all three of those games were blowouts, however. As of now, Davis appears to remain on the outskirts of the regular rotation, and the impending return of Corey Kispert (ankle) won't help his chances of earning a larger role. Last week, coach Wes Unseld Jr. intimated that Davis could end up spending time in the G League with the Capital City Go-Go.

  • Wizards' Johnny Davis: Avoids injury report

Davis (knee) isn't listed on the Wizards' injury report ahead of Monday's preseason game in Charlotte. Davis was recently sidelined for consecutive practices due to a knee injury, but he was back on the court Sunday and appears in line to suit up Monday. The rookie first-round pick is expected to see an increased role off the bench to begin his NBA career with fellow wing Corey Kispert (ankle) expected to miss the beginning of the regular season.

  • Wizards' Johnny Davis: Participates in practice Sunday

Davis (knee) returned to practice Sunday, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports. Davis was sidelined for practice Thursday and Friday due to a knee issue, and while the extent of Davis' production and the activity level of Sunday's practice remain unclear, it's a positive sign to see the rookie back in the mix. If fully healthy, Davis could see an increased workload to start the campaign with Corey Kispert (ankle) sidelined for 4-to-6 weeks and with Bradley Beal (COVID-19) in the health and safety protocols.

  • Wizards' Johnny Davis: Struggles in Wizards debut

Davis posted four points (0-5 FG, 4-4 FT), three assists, three steals and two rebounds in 22 minutes in Friday's preseason contest with the Warriors in Japan. Davis was unable to convert on any of his field goals Friday. However, he was able to be disruptive on defense and get to the free throw line. Ultimately, Davis will take time to adjust to the NBA and will likely come off the bench to start the season.

  • Wizards' Johnny Davis: Scores 11 points in 24 minutes

Davis finished Sunday's Las Vegas Summer League game against the Suns with 11 points (4-11 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, an assist and a steal. After a rough debut Saturday night against Detroit (six points, 1-11 FG), Davis was able to bounce back with a more encouraging effort in what turned into a blowout win for Washington. Davis has plenty of upside as a scorer, rebounder and defender, but he'll likely be a fringe target in most fantasy leagues to begin the year. However, Davis should have a chance to earn a sizable role in Washington, so he could emerge as a decent points/rebounds/steals target if he's able to avoid some of the usual rookie-guard pitfalls.

  • Wizards' Johnny Davis: Struggles in Summer League debut

Davis finished with six points (1-9 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds and two assists in 29 minutes during Saturday's 105-99 Las Vegas Summer League loss to the Pistons. Davis was selected with the No. 10 overall pick in last month's draft, and he's expected to compete for the starting point guard spot with Monte Morris. Saturday marked Davis' first action as a professional. He struggled shooting the ball and committed five fouls. On a positive note, the rookie made his way to the free-throw line for four attempts and kept his turnovers (two) low. The Wisconsin product will aim to improve in the Wizards' next exhibition, which is Sunday against the Suns.

  • Johnny Davis: Selected No. 10 by Wizards

Davis was selected by the Wizards with the 10th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. After averaging 19.7 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.1 rebounds over the course of a brilliant sophomore season with the Wisconsin Badgers, Davis now finds himself as a member of the Wizards. The 6-foot-5 guard joins Bradley Beal, Tomas Satoransky and Ish Smith in Washington's backcourt. With Beal's future with the team up in the air and Satoransky likely not in the long-term plans, Davis has a shot at seeing big minutes during his rookie season -- particularly if Beal is moved. However, with players like Kyle Kuzma, Kristaps Porzingis and Corey Kispert on the roster, Davis will still have plenty of competition for touches.
