Bears' Leonard Floyd released from hospital after leaving game with neck injury
The first-round pick was down on the ground for several minutes in the fourth quarter
Just when Leonard Floyd was beginning to develop into the kind of pass-rusher the Bears envisioned when they took him ninth overall in this year's draft, he suffered what might be a serious neck injury.
In the fourth quarter of the Bears' loss to the Giants on Sunday, Floyd's head collided with his teammate, Akiem Hicks. Floyd immediately crumpled and remained down on the ground for several minutes.

Eventually, he was stabilized on a backboard and carted off the field. He was taken directly to the hospital in an ambulance. According to Bears coach John Fox, Floyd was moving. Fox used the word "encouraging," but he wasn't sure if Floyd will fly back to Chicago with the team. A couple hours later, news broke that Floyd was released from the hospital and will be on the team's flight home.
Floyd began flashing signs of dominance in recent weeks. In the three games leading up to Sunday, Floyd notched 4.5 sacks after recording just half a sack in his first four games.
Against the Giants, Floyd didn't get to Eli Manning, but he had one tackle for a loss.
