Giants plan to bring back head coach Joe Judge and quarterback Daniel Jones for 2022 season, per report
The Giants plan to keep their head coach and quarterback for one more year

The New York Giants aren't ready to give up on Joe Judge and Daniel Jones just yet. Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Giants are planning on bringing back both Judge and Jones for the 2022 season -- despite the struggles of the franchise over the past two years.
New York has lost 10 games for the fifth consecutive season and are just one loss away from being eliminated from the postseason for the fifth straight year. The Giants haven't won a playoff game since winning Super Bowl 46 at the conclusion of the 2011 season.
While Jones and Judge appear to remain intact for 2022, the same can't be said regarding the future of general manager Dave Gettleman -- who New York hasn't made a decision on regarding his future. Since Gettleman took over as the general manager in 2018, the Giants are 19-43 with a best season of 6-10 last year. Only the Jaguars, Jets, and Lions have a worse record than the Giants since the start of the 2018 season.
Judge is just 10-20 in his 30 career games as a head coach and has the Giants to a 4-10 record in his second season at the helm, tied for the second-worst record in the conference and last place in the NFC East. Judge's struggles have been tied to Jones, who has completed 64.3% of his passes for 2,428 yards with 10 touchdowns to seven interceptions for an 84.8 passer rating this season. In three seasons, Jones has completed 62.8% of his passes to 45 touchdowns and 29 interceptions (84.3 rating).
A poor offensive line hasn't helped Jones succeed in the NFL, but his 36 fumbles since his rookie season (2019) lead the league. Jones has 36 fumbles in 38 games as the Giants are just 12-25 in his starts.
With two high draft picks incoming in the first round (Giants' own pick and Chicago bears first-round pick), the Giants may feel a change in the front office is more necessary than blowing the whole organization up and starting from scratch with a new general manager, head coach, and quarterback.
Judge has already made one significant head coaching change this season, firing offensive coordinator Jason Garrett in November. The Giants offense has actually gotten worse since firing Garrett, has their points per game dropped from 18.9 to 12.3 and their yards per game dropped from 322.8 to 283 (four games).
