Jamison Crowder thinks the Redskins have the NFL's best pass catchers
Could Washington have the best wideouts in the league?
The nebulous debate of which wide receiver group is the best in the NFL is a difficult one to answer. A superstar wideout like A.J. Green, for instance, can't overcome a lack of help from the rest of the depth chart (Brandon LaFell, Brandon Tate, Tyler Boyd).
Do you count tight ends? In today's day and age, probably. Which is a reason why the Redskins could argue they have the best pass-catching crew in the land. That's specifically what Jamison Crowder did on ESPN 980 in Washington, via the Washington Post:
We think that, you know, we're the best in the league. Knowing that we've got guys like [DeSean Jackson], Pierre Garcon, like you said, Jordan Reed, he had a great season last year. We even added Vernon Davis at the tight end, but he's still another weapon that can really help us out in the passing game, and Niles Paul and myself, so we feel like we have a really talented group of receivers.
We just have to go out there every day at practice and work on our game -- it starts on the practice field -- and make sure we're on the same page with Kirk [Cousins] or Colt [McCoy] or whoever is playing quarterback, so we'll be ready when the season comes around.
The coaches know that we have a really talented group, we know that we have a really talented group, and I really can't wait to get out there and show the world how talented we are.
Crowder's by and large just answering a question with confidence. No one's going to say they're not the league's best pass-catching group.
But there's a viable case to be made, and it's one NFL Network's Charley Casserly already fired up, calling the Redskins the best "four-receiver combo" when they've got Garcon, Jackson, Reed and Doctson on the field. Stinger for Crowder!

If the four-wideout qualification is mandatory, the Redskins have a strong case. If we're just talking wideouts, give me the Cardinals trio (Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Floyd, John Brown), and the addition of J.J. Nelson makes them maybe the best option overall.
The Packers have a dangerous one-two punch with Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb, but lack an elite third option.
If we're including tight ends, the Patriots are going to be in the mix because of Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, Martellus Bennett and Danny Amendola/Chris Hogan.
The Steelers would win the crown easily if Martavis Bryant were playing -- adding him to Antonio Brown, Markus Wheaton and Ladarius Green is filthy.
The Colts are in the discussion with T.Y. Hilton, Donte Moncrief, Phillip Dorsett and Dwayne Allen, but need a big year (and a healthy Andrew Luck) to really make a case.
Don't sleep on the Jaguars with Allen Robinson, Allen Hurns, Marqise Lee and Julius Thomas, although another year of "prove it" material would be nice too.
And a Clive Walford breakout to pair with Amari Cooper, Michael Crabtree and Seth Roberts would make the Raiders a sleeper.
Those are just about the biggest competitors for the imaginary "best pass-catching group" title belt. It's crazy to say it, but the Redskins have a viable case for the best set of offensive weapons.
