Jim Irsay plunks down a boatload of cash for one of Prince's favorite guitars
The Colts owner adds to his large collection of music memorabilia
When you own an NFL team, chances are you have a lot of money. When you have a lot of money, in this country (and, you know, others), you get the chance to do some pretty cool stuff. Like go to auctions and buy things that used to belong to famous people.
This weekend, that's exactly what Colts owner Jim Irsay did. According to ESPN.com, Irsay purchased a bright yellow guitar at an auction this weekend. That wouldn't normally be notable, except the guitar belonged to Prince.

That, of course, is the famous "Yellow Cloud" guitar that Prince used in concerts through the mid-1990s. Irsay is a collector of musical instruments, and per ESPN, dropped $137,500 to swoop this up at an auction in Beverly Hills.
Prince, of course, tragically passed away at his home earlier this year, due to an accidental overdose of fentanyl.
