For the first time in franchise history, the San Francisco 49ers are going to wear an alternate jersey -- and no, it's not going to be gold.

The 49ers unveiled a black alternate uniform on Thursday that they'll wear for the first time ever during the 2015 season. Not only does the uniform include a black top, but it also includes black pants.

The Raiders probably aren't going to be thrilled to see their Bay Area neighbors wearing black.

Although the 49ers new uniforms won't be officially unveiled until the team's draft party on Thursday night, the 49ers did send out a a few pictures of the new uniform to the team's followers on Snapchat.

That was all the 49ers had planned to reveal until the draft party, but then someone went and took a picture of the entire uniform and then sent that picture to a friend who posted the picture on the internet for everyone to see.

The 49ers eventually did unveil the entire uniform on Thursday night.

Under NFL rules, teams are allowed to wear an alternate uniform up to two times per season.

Forty Niners linebacker NaVorro Bowman thinks fans are going to like the new look.

"I think the fans are going to be excited when they see our new look,” Bowman said. "I think the fans are going to understand we mean business. All I can say is we won’t have to worry about how we look, because we’ll know we look good."

According to the team's website, Bowman was one of several players who were actually involved in the design. I know what you're thinking, "Why would it take more than one person to design a black uniform?"

That's a good question and I don't have the answer.

So how do these stack up against past 49ers jerseys? You can check out a few of the team's old uniforms below.
