QB Derek Carr becomes first Raiders rookie to throw for 4 TDs
Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is having quite a day vs. the Chargers.

Somehow, some way, the Raiders are playing at least as good as -- if not better than -- the Chargers on Sunday, and a huge reason for Oakland's success (assuming you don't count Tony Sparano's shovel idea) is rookie quarterback Derek Carr.
Because Carr is having one of the best performances ever for a rookie in a Raiders uniform.
With his six-yard touchdown pass to Andre Holmes early in the fourth quarter, Carr has thrown for four scores vs. San Diego, the first time an Oakland rookie has managed that feat.
The last time an NFL rookie threw for that many scores was Seattle's Russell Wilson in 2012. Looking ahead at the possibilities, the only rookie ever to throw for five touchdowns in a game was Detroit's Matthew Stafford in 2009.
And if you happen to be looking for another stat that will slap Derek Carr's brother, former No. 1 overall pick David Carr, in the face, here you go ...
Raiders QB @derekcarrqb now has more 4 TD games (1) than his brother, former No. 1 overall pick, David, had in his 11-year career (94 games)
