Saints' Derek Carr: Limited Wednesday
Coach Dennis Allen said Wednesday that Carr (shoulder) was limited at practice, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
Allen added that Carr "threw a little bit more today" and that "things look good in terms of where he's at heading into this week." Those comments suggest Carr came out of Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers without aggravating the AC joint sprain in his right throwing shoulder. In the end, though, he may have a cap on his practice reps until he's able to put the injury in the rearview mirror.

Saints' Derek Carr: Modest showing in Week 4 loss
Carr completed 23 of 37 passes for 127 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and rushed twice for one yard in the Saints' 26-9 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.
Carr averaged a tiny 3.4 yards per attempt, perhaps a result of the veteran signal-caller attempting to play through an AC joint sprain that had him looking very doubtful to play until late in the week. In that context, Carr's propensity for constantly checking down -- the debuting Alvin Kamara led the team with a whopping 13 catches on 14 targets -- is perhaps put into better perspective. Carr has yet to have a true breakout game in a Saints uniform, and it remains to be seen if he's afforded at least one game of rest before he draws his next start. New Orleans faces the Patriots in a Week 5 road matchup.

Saints' Derek Carr: Suiting up Sunday
Carr (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game versus the Buccaneers, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
Carr endured an early departure from last Sunday's loss at Green Bay and eventually was diagnosed with an AC joint sprain in his right throwing shoulder. By returning to practice Friday in a limited fashion, he put himself in a position to return Week 4, but he still entered the weekend with a questionable designation. As Sunday's kickoff drew closer, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that Carr was expected to play, which has come to pass. Carr thus will be working with running back Alvin Kamara for the first time following the latter's three-game suspension to begin the season. The quarterback will be looking to build upon the 636 passing yards that he's put up through two and a half games to date.
