Richard Sherman, Cam Newton lead Madden NFL 15 cover vote
Richard Sherman, Cam Newton and Andrew Luck were the top vote-getters for the first round of Madden 15 NFL cover voting.
There are reminders that I'm getting old all over the place. But looking at the young stars involved in the Madden NFL 15 cover vote? That's when it really sinks in.
The contest to see who will grace the cover is underway again this year and the two leading vote-getters are Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman (he beat Bears wideout Alshon Jeffery 73 percent to 27 percent) and Panthers quarterback Cam Newton (who toppled Steelers wideout Antonio Brown 8-20).Andrew Luck finished third in the fan vote, toppling Redskins running back Alfred Morris 76 percent to 24.
Other guys who advanced to the second round of the vote -- you can vote here or use the hashtag #MaddenCover on social media to discuss worthy candidates -- include Saints tight end Jimmy Graham (over Packers running back Eddie Lacy), Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly, featured in the Madden trailer above, (over Broncos wideout Demaryius Thomas), Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles (over Bengals wideout A.J. Green) and Eagles running back LeSean McCoy (over Colts wideout T.Y. Hilton).
The elimination of Jeffery and Lacy means we get to last off one more year without a guy on the iconic cover of Madden being born in the 90's.
Whew.
