The Saints are expected to be $20 million over the salary cap, the worst position of any team in the NFL. Despite that, head coach Sean Payton doesn't expect to save money by asking Drew Brees to take a pay cut.
Speaking with the media at the Indianapolis scouting combine on Thursday, Payton said, ""I don't think that's something that's going to be happening anytime soon"
Payton said he didn't think Brees or his agent had spoken to Saints GM Mickey Loomis about doing anything to reduce the quarterback's cap hit, which is expected to be $26.4 million in 2015.
