After New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady threw the 400th regular-season touchdown pass of his career last Sunday, wide receiver Danny Amendola gave the ball to a fan, not realizing the milestone he'd just been a part of.

"I didn't realize it until halfway back to the sidelines, that I gave the 400 ball away," Amendola said after the game. A few days later, all is right with the world as Brady has gotten the ball back from said fan in exchange for some signed gear, according to the Boston Herald.

The fan who originally got the ball from Amendola is named David Bowen, and he's a lifelong Pats season ticket holder. He told the Herald that soon after being handed the ball, a Patriots ball boy approached him to see if he'd be willing to swap for a different game ball, and he agreed.

On Wednesday, Bowen and a few of his friends met with Brady after practice. "He signed some stuff for me and thanked me for returning the ball," Bowen said. "I got to congratulate an icon on this amazing accomplishment and what he's done. It was great."
