  • Cardinals' Tanner Vallejo: Won't feature Sunday

    Vallejo (knee) is out for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, according to Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site. Vallejo didn't play in Week 6 against Cleveland but logged at least 35 percent of the snaps in each of his last three games. However, he's been ruled out against the Seahawks and will miss his second game of the campaign. The former Boise State standout has not played more than 50 percent of the snaps in any single contest, though, so his absence shouldn't affect Arizona's defensive plan considerably.

    Vallejo (hand) recorded a full practice Wednesday and is expected to be available for the Cardinals' Week 8 contest with the Packers on Thursday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. Vallejo was forced to miss the Cardinals' Week 6 game with the Browns as his hand injury was just starting to bother him. The linebacker managed to play in Week 7 against the Texans as he recorded a season-high number of defensive snaps (10). Expect Vallejo to be able to play against the Packers on Thursday night.

    Vallejo agreed Wednesday with the Cardinals on a two-year, $4.2 million contract, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. The Cardinals were Vallejo's fourth NFL team since he entered the league as a sixth-round pick in 2017. The Boise State product finally carved out a role this past season, as he finished second on the team with 10 special-teams tackles through 16 games. Vallejo also managed to record 16 tackles and a sack over 95 defensive snaps.
