  • Lions' Emmanuel Moseley: Another chance with Detroit

Moseley (knee) signed a new one-year contract with the Lions on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Moseley signed a one-year deal with the Lions last offseason while he was recovering from a torn ACL suffered in 2022. Unfortunately, the 27-year-old cornerback suffered the same injury on his second defensive snap of the season when he made his debut with Detroit in Week 5. He will now get another opportunity with the club as it bolsters its secondary for 2024.

  • Lions' Emmanuel Moseley: Won't return Sunday

Moseley (knee) has been ruled out from returning to Sunday's game against New England. Moseley appeared to hurt his right knee while in pass coverage during the first half and won't be able to return. He was making his 2023 debut Sunday after suffering a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee in Week 5 last year. Jerry Jacobs played a near every-down role with Moseley on injured reserve over the first four weeks and should continue to do so Sunday and potentially beyond.

  • Lions' Emmanuel Moseley: Leaves game Sunday

Moseley exited Sunday's game against the Panthers with a knee injury and is questionable to come back in, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com reports. The cornerback was making his season debut after recovering from an ACL tear and a hamstring injury. Moseley's ACL tear was on his left knee, but it was his right one being examined Sunday. The sixth-year pro suffered the torn ACL last season with the 49ers and then signed a one-year deal with the Lions in the offseason.

  • Lions' Emmanuel Moseley: Could return Week 5

Moseley (knee) practiced in full Friday and is questionable for Sunday's Week 5 contest at home against the Panthers. Moseley logged a trio of limited practices Week 4 but didn't play in a Thursday contest against the Packers. He began this week with another pair of limited sessions before he was able to progress to full practice participation Friday. Moseley thus seems to have a good chance to play Sunday against Carolina, which would be his first game action since he tore the ACL and MCL in his left knee in Week 5 last year.

  • Lions' Emmanuel Moseley: Limited on estimated injury report

Moseley (knee) was estimated as a limited participant at Detroit's walkthrough Monday. Moseley has still yet to make his 2023 debut, but Monday's estimation is a step in the right direction ahead of Thursday at the Packers. The Lions' injury reports Tuesday and Wednesday will serve as better indicators of whether he'll be ready to go for Week 4.

  • Lions' Emmanuel Moseley: Logs limited practice Monday

Moseley (knee) was a limited participant at practice Monday. Moseley is still working his way back from an ACL tear he suffered in October 2022, and he seems to be progressing well ahead of Thursday's game at Kansas City. Whether he'll be available in Week 1 is still up in the air, though, and if he has to sit out, it'll be interesting to see who among Will Harris, Steven Gilmore and Khalil Dorsey is active.

  • Lions' Emmanuel Moseley: Could miss start of season

Moseley (knee) is still without a timetable to return this season, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports. Moseley reported to camp late after undergoing a clean-up procedure on his knee and remains on the team's active/PUP list. He was originally expected to be ready Week 1 and took part in walkthrough drills during minicamp. However, the 27-year-old doesn't want to comment on what caused his setback, stating, "I don't want to go deeper into kind of what happened or whatever, but just know right now I'm feeling pretty good." When asked if he might be ready by the season opener, he added, "I'm not going to throw no numbers out there or a timeline, but if you see me out, just know I'll be very excited." Moseley is expected to play a key role in the Lions secondary this season, but he'll need to get healthy first, and it still remains unclear when that will be.

If Moseley's back for the season finale against the Rams, he could use that game as an opportunity to knock off some rust before the playoffs, assuming the 49ers are able to make it.
