  • 49ers' Emmanuel Moseley: Activated from IR

Moseley was activated off of injured reserve Saturday.

After missing the last four contests with an ankle injury, the cornerback will make his return just in time to appear in Sunday's crucial contest against the Rams. Moseley has played in 10 games this season, making 36 tackles while deflecting 10 passes and recovering a fumble.

  • 49ers' Emmanuel Moseley: Designated to return from IR

Moseley (ankle) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday.

The 25-year-old will now have a 21-day practice window where he can either be activated or remain out for the remainder of the season. Moseley has been out since Week 13, though he has an opportunity to return as the 49ers gear up for a potential playoff run.

  • 49ers' Emmanuel Moseley: Won't be back before Week 18

Coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Moseley (ankle) won't be back until Week 18 at the earliest, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Moseley's eligible to return from IR as early as Week 17 against Houston, but Shanahan says he won't be ready by then. If Moseley's back for the season finale against the Rams, he could use that game as an opportunity to knock off some rust before the playoffs, assuming the 49ers are able to make it.

  • 49ers' Emmanuel Moseley: Placed on injured reserve

Moseley (ankle) was placed on IR on Saturday, Matt Barrows of The Athleticreports.

Moseley's move to IR is not shocking, as head coach Kyle Shanahan said he'd likely miss "several weeks" Dec. 6. With Dontae Johnson (personal) also out Sunday against the Bengals, Deommodore Lenoir and Ambry Thomas will likely be left to pick up the slack. Moseley will be eligible to return for Week 17 against the Texans.

  • 49ers' Emmanuel Moseley: Likely to miss time

San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan said Moseley will likely miss "several weeks" due to the high-ankle sprain he sustained in the first quarter of Sunday's loss to the Seahawks, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Moseley, who leads the 49ers with 10 pass breakups through 10 games -- will miss at least the team's Week 14 game in Cincinnati, and quite likely, additional contests beyond that. Dontae Johnson and Deommodore Lenoir are expected to pick up more reps at cornerback while Moseley is sidelined.

  • 49ers' Emmanuel Moseley: Done for the day

Moseley (ankle) will not return Sunday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Moseley picked up the injury in the first half, and in his absence Dontae Johnson has taken over. Moseley will try to return in Week 14 against the Bengals.

  • 49ers' Emmanuel Moseley: Injures ankle Sunday

Moseley (ankle) is questionable to return to Sunday's contest against the Seahawks, Keiana Martin of the 49ers' official site reports.

Moseley has been a starter in the 49ers' secondary since Week 3, so if he is unable to return, it would be a big blow to their defense. Deommodore Lenoir is operating across from Josh Norman during Moseley's absence.

  • 49ers' Emmanuel Moseley: Avoids injury report

Moseley (neck) doesn't carry an injury designation into Monday's game against the Rams, Jourdan Rodrigue of the Athletic reports.

A neck injury kept Moseley limited in practice Thursday and Friday, but his full participation Saturday allowed him to avoid the final injury report. He'll occupy his customary starting cornerback role against a Rams receiving corps that added Odell Beckham this week but subsequently lost Robert Woods to a season-ending knee injury.
