The Saints waived Rechsteiner (suspension) on Sunday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports. Rechsteiner still must miss the first six games of the 2026 regular season regardless of where he ends up. The undrafted free agent out of Jacksonville State was suspended in early August, something that may inhibit his ability to find work if he clears waivers.

Saints' Brock Rechsteiner: Suspended to start season

Rechsteiner (suspension) will miss the first six games of the 2026 regular season, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Rechsteiner will be eligible to participate in all preseason activities, with his suspension beginning once rosters are reduced to 53 players. The league did not disclose what rules the undrafted free agent out of Jacksonville State violated. If Rechsteiner does not make the Saints roster, the suspension will still run its course while he is a free agent.
