Wilson signed a contract with the Saints on Monday. Wilson spent time with the Texans and Eagles last season after spending the previous four with the Vikings. He played in 14 games in 2021, recording 46 tackles, a pass defensed and an interception. Wilson should help provide depth to the Saints' linebacker unit this upcoming season.... See More ... Texans' Eric Wilson: Restored from COVID list
Wilson (illness) was activated from the Texans' reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday. Wilson was on the COVID-19 list for about a week. He now will be free to return to practice and prepare for Sunday's matchup with 49ers, resuming his role at outside linebacker opposite Christian Kirksey.... See More ... See Less -
Texans' Eric Wilson: Placed on COVID-19 list
The Texans placed Wilson on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday after he tested positive for the virus. Wilson has played primarily on special teams since joining the Texans. According to Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston, Wilson is the Texans' only unvaccinated player, which means he'll be subject to an automatic 10-day quarantine since he tested positive. He won't be available for Sunday's game against the Chargers as a result.... See More ... See Less -
Eagles' Eric Wilson: Puts up 10 tackles
Wilson posted 10 tackles (five solo) in Sunday's 17-11 loss to the 49ers. Despite playing just 68 percent of the defensive snaps in Week 2, Wilson was one of three Eagles players to hit double-digit stops. Through two games, he has registered 18 tackles (seven solo). He should be a sturdy IDP option as long as his playing time doesn't drop further.... See More ... See Less -
Vikings' Eric Wilson: Big tackling day
Wilson posted 11 tackles (four solo) and a pass breakup in Sunday's 27-24 overtime win against the Jaguars. Wilson hit double-digit tackles for the second time this year. With a stranglehold on the starting role because of Anthony Barr's (pectoral) absence, Wilson has capitalized with 90 stops, three sacks, five pass breakups and three interceptions through 12 games. He's second on the team to Eric Kendricks (107) in stops this year.... See More ... See Less -
Vikings' Eric Wilson: Making most of expanded role
Wilson had an interception, a sack, two tackles for a loss, three QB hits, a pass defensed and six tackles in Sunday's loss at Seattle. Wilson started at weak-side linebacker and played on all 54 of the defense's snaps. With Anthony Barr out for the season with a pectoral injury, Wilson is having a larger role and making the most of it. Wilson previously came off the field in nickel and dime packages, but he'll now play alongside Eric Kendricks in almost all formations.... See More ... See Less -
Vikings' Eric Wilson: Gets start at linebacker
Wilson will start at linebacker Sunday against Detroit in place of Eric Kendricks, who is out with a hamstring injury, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Wilson has been productive when given more playing time as he had 13 total tackles and one sack in two games when given 50 or more snaps on defense in Week 9 and 11.... See More ... See Less -
Vikings' Eric Wilson: Moving up depth chart
Wilson is having a strong preseason and looks to be the leading candidate for the fourth linebacker role, ESPN 1500 am Twin Cities reports. Wilson, an undrafted free agent from Cincinnati, had eight tackles in 16 games last season, playing exclusively on special teams. It looks like he could take on a larger role this season and be the first reserve linebacker.... See More ... See Less
