  • Jessie Lemonier: Passes away at age 25

    Lemonier passed away Thursday at the age of 25, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com reports. Lemonier appeared in 13 combined games between the Chargers and Lions from 2020-21. Through his seven appearances with the Lions in 2021, he recorded 1.5 sacks. Lemonier was selected in the 2023 XFL Draft back in November but instead had decided to commit to the USFL this upcoming spring.

  • Cardinals' Jessie Lemonier: Claimed by Cardinals

    Lemonier has been picked up off waivers, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports. Lemonier will now join the Cardinals after being waived by the Lions on Monday. The third-year linebacker has appeared in 13 total games between the Chargers and Detroit over his first two seasons and tallied 18 tackles and 1.5 sacks while playing 155 defensive snaps and 44 special-teams snaps in 2021.

    Lemonier was promoted to the Chargers' active roster from the practice squad Saturday. The 23-year-old appeared in two games earlier this season but was waived a couple weeks ago. Lemonier mostly played special teams during his previous stint on the active roster and may have a similar role this time around.
