  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Records third missed PAT of season

Karty connected on a 22-yard field-goal attempt and made five of six PAT attempts during Sunday's 44-42 win against the Bills. Karty's only miss of the contest came at a critical juncture, as the fourth-quarter misfire left the Bills down just nine with 1:54 to play. Josh Allen then marched down the field in under a minute, scoring a touchdown to make it a two-point contest. Had the Bills recovered the onside kick or forced a fumble during the final drive, Karty's wide left PAT attempt could've cost the Rams the game and made his grasp on the kicking job even more tenuous. Karty did make his first field goal since Week 10 in the second quarter, a 22-yard chip shot, which should help boost his confidence ahead of a Thursday night showdown with division-rival San Francisco in Week 15.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Quiet day in victory

Karty connected on all three of his extra-point attempts during Sunday's 21-14 win against the Saints. The rookie's grasp on the Rams' kicking role had weakened after a multi-week slump, and while his performance on Sunday didn't do much to move the needle towards restoring that confidence, a misfire on any of his three extra-point attempts would have been the fourth straight week that Karty would've recorded a missed kick. A tough matchup with the Bills in Week 14 will be Karty's next opportunity to produce.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Misses only field-goal attempt

Karty missed a 47-yard field goal and connected on both of his extra-point attempts during Sunday's 37-20 loss to the Eagles. A troublesome trend has emerged after Karty wasn't particularly close on his lone field-goal attempt, sending it wide right. The rookie kicker has now recorded a missed FG in three straight games, and four in his last six. While it's hard to discount the body of work Karty put in through the first half of the season, his slump may force head coach Sean McVay to seriously consider bringing in competition for the role of Rams' kicker with the team's playoff hopes on life support. Week 13's contest against the Saints will be Karty's next opportunity to bounce back.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Misses only field-goal attempt

Karty missed a 26-yard field goal and connected on all four of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 28-22 victory against the Patriots. For the second straight week, the rookie kicker had a missed kick, but unlike last week's lengthy 57-yard miss, Karty put a short 26-yard attempt off the right upright just before the end of the first half. These three points were pivotal late, as the Patriots were only down six heading into their final drive. Had the Patriots scored and earned the victory, Karty may have gotten much more flak for his miss. On the season, Karty is 16-for-20 on field-goal attempts and 19-for-21 on extra-point attempts, and he'll look to boost his percentages against the Eagles in Week 12.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Heavy volume in defeat

Karty connected on five of six field-goal attempts during Sunday's 23-15 loss to the Dolphins. The rookie kicker contributed all of the Rams' points on Sunday, booting two lengthy kicks of 55 and 53 yards to go along with three shorter field goals. Karty did miss a 57-yard field-goal attempt in the third quarter, due in part to a false start by Beaux Limmer on the first attempt. It was still a solid performance for the rookie kicker, who will look to keep his string of good performances up against the Patriots in Week 11.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Perfect performance Sunday

Karty connected on both of his field-goal attempts and converted both of his extra point-tries during Sunday's 26-20 overtime victory against the Seahawks. Karty's first FG attempt since Week 7 was a successful 38-yard attempt, and he tacked on a 21-yard chip shot in the third quarter. The rookie kicker was also perfect on extra points and will look to carry his momentum of two straight weeks of perfect accuracy against the Dolphins in Week 10.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Nails all four PATs

Karty connected on all four of his extra-point tries during Thursday's 30-20 victory against the Vikings. The rookie kicker wasn't asked to do much against the Vikings, but Karty was able to shake the nerves off after two straight weeks with a missed PAT and drilled all four of his extra-point attempts. Karty's next task will be handling the imposing crowd of the division-rival Seahawks in Week 9, and he'll look to return to his perfect field-goal kicking form he had in Weeks 1-3.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Struggles in victory

Karty missed his only field-goal attempt and made two of three PAT attempts during Sunday's 20-15 victory against the Raiders. The rookie kicker missed an extra point for the second consecutive game, and sent a 35-yard field-goal attempt into the left upright in the fourth quarter, a field goal that was critical because it would have pushed the Rams into a two-possession lead over the Raiders. Karty had been a reliable kicker through the Rams' first four games, but a trio of misses in his last two games will be something to monitor going forward, with a tough task at hand in Week 8 against one of the top teams in the NFC in the Vikings.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Has PAT blocked

Karty connected on one of his two extra-point tries during Sunday's 24-19 loss to the Packers. The rookie kicker never had a chance to attempt a field goal, and in the second quarter, his PAT attempt after a pick-six was blocked. Heading into the Rams' Week 6 bye, Karty is a solid 9-for-10 on field-goal attempts and has one miss in eight PAT tries, one of the lone bright spots on a Rams offense that has been struggling with injury and ineffectiveness through the first quarter of the season.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Active versus 49ers

Karty (groin) is listed as active Sunday's game against the 49ers, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports. Karty approached the contest listed as questionable after returning to a limited practice Friday. He'll be available Sunday, but the 0-2 Rams' kicker will be working behind a short-handed offense that is minus its top two wide receivers, Cooper Kupp (ankle) and Puka Nacua (knee).

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Questionable with groin injury

Karty (groin) officially is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times reports. If Karty is unable to play through his groin injury, Tanner Brown would take over kicking duties for Los Angeles. Scoring opportunities could be hard to come by Sunday for a Rams offense without its top two wide receivers Cooper Kupp (ankle) and Puka Nacua (knee) against San Francisco's stout defense.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Sits out practice Wednesday

Karty (groin) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports. The Rams' rookie kicker tweaked his groin in last Sunday's 41-10 loss to the Cardinals. Through two contests, Karty has drilled all three of his field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point attempts. Head coach Sean McVay said earlier in the week that he expects Karty to be available for Sunday's game against the 49ers, but the Rams signed Tanner Brown to the practice squad Tuesday as a potential replacement if Karty doesn't bounce back from the groin injury as anticipated.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Tweaks groin Sunday

Rams head coach Sean McVay said Monday that Karty tweaked his groin during Sunday's 41-10 loss to the Cardinals, Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register reports. McVay added that he expects Karty to play Week 3 against the 49ers, but the kicker's practice participation will be something to monitor throughout the week. Karty, a 2024 sixth-round pick from Stanford, has made all three of his field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries through the first two weeks of the season.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Perfect in debut performance

Karty connected on both of his field-goal attempts and converted both of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 26-20 overtime loss to the Lions. Through one game, the Rams' kicker, a position that was a major point of concern last season, seems to have developed some stability. Karty came through with a 41-yard field goal in the first quarter before drilling a 26-yard attempt in the fourth. The sixth-round rookie from Stanford continued to build on a solid preseason (5-of-6 on field goals) and should continue to have plenty of opportunities to produce against the Cardinals in Week 2.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Misses PAT in preseason finale

Karty converted a 21-yard field-goal attempt and missed his lone extra-point try during Saturday's 17-15 loss against the Texans. The rookie kicker out of Stanford missed the first PAT of his NFL career when he clanged the kick off the right upright in the second quarter. Karty did manage to improve his record on field goals this preseason to 5-of-6 with a chip-shot field goal to start the scoring for the Rams in the first quarter, and overall he did an admirable job compared to Tanner Brown's 2-of-4 performance in last year's preseason. Karty should have some margin for error early on in the season given the Rams invested draft capital on him, but, head coach Sean McVay isn't afraid to make a switch at the position, including releasing Brett Maher last season after he missed six field goals in his first seven games.

  • Rams' Joshua Karty: Competing for kicker job in LA

The Rams selected Karty in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 209th overall. Karty converted 23 of his 27 field-goal attempts with Stanford last season with only one miss coming from within 50 yards. The rookie is expected to compete with Tanner Brown and possibly another veteran for the team's starting kicker spot to begin 2024.
