Three injured on inactive list Thursday for Patriots

Three injured players have been placed on the inactive list by the Patriots for their season opener Thursday night against Pittsburgh. They are running back Travaris Cadet (hamstring), defensive lineman Trey Flowers (knee) and safety Tavon Wilson (quad).

The healthy inactives are offensive lineman Ryan Wendell, defensive lineman Khyri Thornton, linebacker Rufus Johnson and cornerback Justin Coleman.

Patriots C Bryan Stork remains sidelined Thursday

Patriots rookie center Bryan Stork (knee) was unable to practice for the second straight day Thursday as the team prepared for Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Colts. Ryan Wendell is expected to start in Stork's spot.

New England is a 6.5-point favorite.

Patriots rookie starting center Bryan Stork is not practicing Wednesday, reports He suffered a knee injury in the second quarter of the playoff win over Baltimore and did not return.

If Stork can't play in Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Colts, right guard Ryan Wendell will start at center with Josh Kline replacing Wendell.

New England is a 6.5-point home favorite.

Patriots starting C Bryan Stork uncertain for title game

The status of Patriots starting center Bryan Stork is unclear heading into Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Colts, reports the team's website. Stork left the playoff win over the Ravens with a knee injury and was not spotted in the locker room afterward.

New England doesn't resume practicing until Wednesday.

Midway through the second quarter, Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs "came flying in from behind [Tom] Brady and landed on the side of Stork’s right leg," the website said. Right guard Ryan Wendell moved to center, with Josh Kline coming in to replace Wendell.

Patriots center Bryan Stork was escorted to the locker room in the first half of Saturday's AFC divisional playoff game against the Ravens with a knee injury. His return is questionable. Ryan Wendell took over at center while Stork remains sidelined.

Patriots list Week 11 inactives vs. Colts

The Patriots have listed the following players as inactive for Sunday night's matchup with the Colts: defensive linemen Chandler Jones (hip) and Casey Walker, wide receiver Aaron Dobson, cornerback Alfonzo Dennard, running back James White, offensive lineman Jordan Devey and safety Don Jones.

All four players listed as questionable for Sunday's game are active, including center Ryan Wendell (knee), offensive tackle Cameron Fleming (finger), defensive tackle Dominique Easley (knee) and safety Nate Ebner (finger). Quarterback Tom Brady (ankle) and wide receiver Matthew Slater (shoulder) also active after being listed as probable to play.

Patriots fine physically heading into Sunday game

The Patriots are in good shape physically heading into their Sunday night game at Indianapolis. Only defensive Chandler Jones (hip), who is out, has received a worse designation than questionable.

The questionables are defensive lineman Dominique Easley (knee), defensive back Nate Ebner (finger) and offensive linemen Cameron Fleming (finger) and Ryan Wendell (knee).

Quarterback Tom Brady (ankle) and wideout Matthew Slater (shoulder) are probable.

The Patriots' list of inactives for Week 3 against Oakland includes defensive back Alfonzo Dennard (shoulder), defensive back Don Jones (hamstring), offensive lineman Ryan Wendell (knee), defensive lineman Zach Moore, wide receiver Aaron Dobson, offensive lineman Josh Kline and running back James White. Moore, Dobson, Kline and White are all healthy scratches.

The Patriots have deemed five players as questionable for their Sunday game against visiting Oakland. They are defensive lineman Michael Buchanan (ankle), linebacker Jamie Collins (thigh), cornerback Alfonzo Dennard (shoulder), running back Shane Vereen (shoulder) and offensive lineman Ryan Wendell (knee).

Listed as prorable are wide receiver Julian Edelman (back), tight end Rob Gronkowski (knee), offensive lineman Dan Connolly (knee) and defensive tackle Sealver Siliga (hand).

Patriots draft center Bryan Stork

With the 105th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots selected center Bryan Stork from Florida State.

Stork blocked for Heisman winner Jameis Winston and received the Rimington Trophy for the top center in college football in 2013. He will likely slide behind Ryan Wendell in the depth chart.

Center Ryan Wendell has yet to take a free-agent visit, reports Wendell started every game for the Patriots the past two years, but it's unclear if the team wants him back.

"Perhaps some teams have reservations about Wendell's size and seeing him overpowered at times, but he's a heady, scrappy competitor," the report said.
