Taylor, who legally changed his last name during the offseason, is looking to bounce back from the broken leg that ended his 2017 campaign in Week 15, Scott Smith of the Bucaneers' official website reports.
Formerly known as Adarius Glanton, the linebacker logged 284 snaps on defense and 213 on special teams last season, posting a career-best stat line of 31 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 14 games. Assuming his recovery goes as planned, he'll provide depth behind Tampa Bay's starting linebacker group of Lavonte David, Kwon Alexander and Kendell Beckwith, potentially joining the starting lineup if one of the three is injured. Glanton may not be ready for the offseason program, as his recovery timeline was estimated at four-to-six months.
Glanton (lower leg) re-signed with Tampa Bay on Monday, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
It looked more and more like a Glanton-Tampa reunion would not be happening once the Bucs opted not to tender Glanton's contract for 2018 in late February. While Glanton will serve primarily as a depth linebacker, the 27-year-old figures to be a key cog on special teams.
Glanton broke his leg in the season finale and likely won't be signed until he's fully recovered from his injury, which figures to be around April. Expect the linebacker to sign with Tampa Bay or another team once he's healthy.
Glanton (lower leg), who underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a fractured tibia and fibula, will need 4-to-6 months to recover, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
Buccaneers head coach Dirk Koetter announced Tuesday that Glanton would be placed on injured reserve after suffering the gruesome-looking injury after colliding with teammate Robert Ayers, who hurt his neck and left shoulder on the play, in Monday's 24-21 loss to the Falcons. Glanton is expected to make a full recovery from the setback as he heads into free agency during the offseason.
Glanton underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a fractured bone in his lower left leg, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports. He'll be placed on injured reserve, ending his season.
Glanton wasted little time to address the serious injury he sustained during Monday's 24-21 loss to the Falcons. Look for the Buccaneers to sign another middle linebacker to assume the roster spot of Glanton, who had been thrust into the starting lineup Monday in place of an injured Lavonte David (hamstring).
