Tamba Hali: Weighing retirement
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hali is considering retiring after 12 seasons in the NFL, SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.

Once an elite edge rusher, Hali played all 12 seasons of his career to date in Kansas City, totaling 89.5 sacks over that span. He's been a free agent for the last several months and he doesn't appear high on any team's radar. If he decides he wants to keep playing he'll likely be able to catch on with a team as a rotational pass rusher in 2018.

Tamba Hali: Time's up in Kansas City
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hali will be released by the Chiefs, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

It's a sad day for Chiefs fans everywhere, as Hali enjoyed a fantastic 12-year run in Kansas City and finishes his tenure with 89.5 sacks, second-most in team history behind the legendary Derrick Thomas. However, it was indeed the right time for the Chiefs to move on, as Hali was limited to only 99 defensive snaps in 2017 and finished the year with one mere tackle. Kansas City saves $7.7 million against the cap with his release.

Chiefs' Tamba Hali: Will play Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Chiefs have listed Hali (knee) as active for Saturday's playoff tilt against the Titans, BJ Kissel of the Chiefs' official site reports.

Hali was originally deemed questionable due to a knee injury, but will play through the issue. Assuming he avoids any setbacks, he should take on his usual workload at outside linebacker in the contest.

Chiefs' Tamba Hali: Questionable for Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hali (knee) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Titans.

Hali did not play Week 17 against the Broncos as he continues to nurse a knee injury that kept him sidelined for the first half of the season. In the contests he's played, he's had a very limited role, never exceeding 30 defensive snaps in a contest. Should he be cleared to play Saturday, look for him to play in the same limited role.

Chiefs' Tamba Hali: Ready for Sunday's contest
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hali (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Broncos, BJ Kissel of the Chiefs' official site reports.

Hali has been limited in all five games he played this season, and he's only posted one solo tackle. Expect him to be limited again Sunday, especially ahead of the Chiefs playoff divisional-round playoff game.

Chiefs' Tamba Hali: Questionable for Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hali is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Broncos with a knee injury.

Hali's complete lack of participation in practice this week makes it unlikely he'll suit up Sunday, especially considering the Chiefs are already locked into the No. 4 playoff spot in the AFC. Frank Zombo and Tanoh Kpassagnon would see increased snap counts if Hali is ultimately unable to play Sunday.

Chiefs' Tamba Hali: Available Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hali (knee) is active for Saturday's game versus the Chargers, BJ Kissel of the Chiefs' official site reports.

Hali didn't practice Thursday after limited sessions the previous two days, but the veteran pass rusher will nonetheless make his fourth appearance of the season. In the prior three, he notched one tackle on 66 defensive snaps, so his viability has dried up in his age-34 campaign.

Chiefs' Tamba Hali: Game-time decision Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hali (knee) was unable to practice Friday and his been deemed questionable for Saturday's game against the Chargers.

Hali logged limited workloads Tuesday and Wednesday, so his absence at Friday's practice indicates he is trending in the wrong direction. However, his final status will likely depend on how his knee is feeling closer to gametime. Tanoh Kpassagnon would likely fill in at outside linebacker should Hali ultimately watch the game from the sidelines.

Chiefs' Tamba Hali: Will play Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hali (knee) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Raiders, BJ Kissel of Chiefs.com reports.

Hali has played just 36 defensive snaps in two games all season, logging a single tackle in the process as a knee injury has kept him limited. The Chiefs will likely continue to proceed cautiously with the veteran's level of activity on Sunday, while Tanoh Kpassagnon and Frank Zombo could see additional reps at outside linebacker.

Chiefs' Tamba Hali: Expected back Week 14
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said he anticipates that Hali (knee) will play Sunday against the Raiders, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.

With the Chiefs playing road games against the Giants and Jets on the artificial turf at MetLife Stadium in two of the last three games, Hali has been held out of both of those contests to ease the stress on his knee, which has limited him throughout the season. While Hali's practice time this week will likely be managed carefully, the linebacker should be cleared to take the field Sunday, barring a setback over the next few days. Even if Hali suits up, however, he would likely be limited to a rotational role, with most of his snaps likely coming on passing downs.

Chiefs' Tamba Hali: Ruled out for Week 13
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hali (knee) is listed as inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets, BJ Kissel of Chiefs.com reports.

Hali's absence in Week 13 will leave the Chiefs thin at outside linebacker with Dee Ford (back) ruled out as well, while Frank Zombo and Tanoh Kpassagnon are destined for increased roles on defense alongside starter Justin Houston.

Chiefs' Tamba Hali: Questionable for Week 13
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hali (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets.

Hali was a limited participant in practice this week after suiting up against the Bills in Week 12. The Chiefs can ill afford to be without Hali this week with Dee Ford (back) already ruled out. Frank Zombo and Tanoh Kpassagnon would serve opposite Justin Houston at outside linebacker if Hali is unable to suit up.

Chiefs' Tamba Hali: Suiting up Week 12
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hali (knee) has avoided the inactive list Sunday against the Bills, BJ Kissel of the Chiefs' official site reports.

Despite failing to take the practice field in a full capacity this week, Hali will suit up and be available to provide outside linebacker depth for the Chiefs. This will come in handy with Dee Ford (back) inactive, but if the Chiefs elect to limit Hali's snaps in any capacity, Frank Zombo would once again see a healthy workload.

Chiefs' Tamba Hali: Limited participant Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hali (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Hali continues to deal with complications and swelling from his previous knee injury, and that kept him out in Week 11. The Chiefs likely will need to get a full practice out of Hali before they're comfortable putting him on the game field, and their pass rush could be useful against mobile Bills' QB Tyrod Taylor.

Chiefs' Tamba Hali: Ruled out for Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hali (knees) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Giants, BJ Kissel of the Chiefs' official site reports.

Hali didn't make his season debut until Week 9 while battling a knee injury that dates back to training camp, and it wasn't long before he succumbed to a setback. Despite playing only 23 snaps in the Chiefs' last game against Dallas on Nov. 5, Hali experienced inflammation in his knees following the outing, with the bye week failing to provide sufficient time for him to recover. The Chiefs could struggle to generate a pass rush against the Giants with fellow outside linebacker Dee Ford (back) also sidelined for the Week 11 contest.

Chiefs' Tamba Hali: Sits out practice Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hali didn't practice Wednesday while contending with swelling in his knees, Terez A. Paylor of The Kansas City Star reports.

Hali made his season debut in the Chiefs' Week 9 loss to the Cowboys, playing 23 snaps on defense and recording one tackle. Despite the Chiefs coming off of a bye week, Hali still doesn't appear to be fully healthy, with Kansas City head coach Andy Reid indicating that the veteran's knees "swelled up a little bit" following the Dallas game. The 34-year-old's practice participation the rest of the week should provide a clearer indication of his status for the Week 11 matchup with the Giants, but if Hali plays, it wouldn't be surprising if his snaps were limited for the second straight contest.

Chiefs' Tamba Hali: Ready to make season debut
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hali (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, BJ Kissel of the Chiefs' official site reports.

Hali turned 34 years old Friday, and he was activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list Saturday. It's unlikely he's summoned for a full work load, but with Dee Ford (back) inactive, the linebacker depth is necessary for Kansas City. Therefore, Hali shouldn't be considered an IDP threat.

Chiefs' Tamba Hali: Activated from PUP
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Chiefs added Hali (knee) to their 53-man roster from the Physically Unable to Perform list on Saturday, Josina Anderson of ESPN reports.

Hali has only practiced twice, but it's welcome timing for the Chiefs with Dee Ford (back) ruled out Sunday and Justin Houston (knee) listed as questionable. It's unclear at this point the role Kansas City has in mind for the 34-year-old, but it's difficult to imagine a full workload for Sunday's game against the Cowboys with such minimal practice time.

Chiefs' Tamba Hali: Returns to practice Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hali (knee) returned to practice Thursday and now has three weeks to be promoted to the active roster, Terez A. Paylor of The Kansas City Start reports.

Chiefs' fans were teased Wednesday afternoon when news broke that the veteran Hali was returning to practice that day after being sidelined since training camp with knee soreness. However, fans did not have to wait long for Hali to officially return, as the linebacker was spotted back on the practice field Thursday. The Chiefs now have until Nov. 23 to place Hali on the active roster, but they will need to clear a roster spot in order to do so. Should the veteran not be activated, he will revert back to the PUP list for the remainder of the season. With only two days of practice under his belt this week, Hali is unlikely to be activated in time for Sunday's tilt with the Cowboys.

Chiefs' Tamba Hali: Ends up sitting out practice
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Updating a previous report, Hali (knee) didn't practice Wednesday and wasn't activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list, according to Adam Teicher of ESPN.com.

Earlier news suggested that Hali would return to the practice field Wednesday for the first time since he was sidelined during training camp due to soreness in both knees, but that never materialized, as the Chiefs' training staff opted to keep the linebacker off the field once again. It remains unclear if Hali suffered a notable setback with either of his knees or if the Chiefs are simply acting cautiously, but more information on that front should come within the next few days. Even if he ends up getting activated Thursday, Hali is highly unlikely to play in Sunday's game against the Cowboys, given his lack of practice time over the last few months.
