Cardinals' Reggie Virgil: Serves as No. 4 wideout in Week 5
Virgil recorded two receptions for 29 yards on five targets in Sunday's 45-21 loss to the Lions.
A healthy inactive for the first four games of the season, Virgil ended up suiting up for the first time after the Cardinals opted to hold Marvin Harrison out in Week 5 before trading him to the Texans shortly after Sunday's contest concluded. Virgil ended up serving as the Cardinals' No. 4 receiver, logging just 13 of 73 offensive snaps but seeing ample involvement during his limited time on the field. While the rookie fifth-round pick out of Texas Tech should be active for the Cardinals on a regular basis moving forward, he's likely to rank behind Michael Wilson, Trey McBride and Kendrick Bourne in the pecking order for targets.

Cardinals' Jalen Brooks: Slides up depth chart
Brooks recorded two catches for 16 yards on seven targets in Sunday's 45-21 loss to the Lions.
After logging single-digit snaps in each of the Cardinals' first four games while drawing one total target, Brooks saw a substantial increase in playing time in Week 5. With the Cardinals opting to make Marvin Harrison inactive for the Week 5 contest, Brooks stepped into a regular role in three-receiver sets, taking the field for 39 of 73 offensive snaps. Arizona traded Harrison to Houston following the contest, which should clear the way for Brooks to continue seeing ample snaps moving forward. However, Brooks isn't expected to rank as a high priority in the passing game, with all of Michael Wilson, Trey McBride and Kendrick Bourne ahead of him in the pecking order for targets.

Cardinals' James Conner: May be close to practicing
Conner (foot) is "getting close" to practicing, but the Cardinals aren't expected to open his 21-day evaluation window this week, John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reports.
Conner's 2025 season was cut short due to a right foot injury that he addressed with surgery, but he was cleared to take part in practices at the start of training camp. However, he didn't end up mixing into team drills at any point in August before the Cardinals placed him on injured reserve with a designation to return to begin the season. Though Conner has seemingly made progress in his recovery from the start of the season, the Cardinals are unlikely to rush him back into action with three other running backs (Jeremiyah Love, Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight) already on the 53-man roster. Gambardoro suggests that the Cardinals may be viewing Conner as more of an insurance policy in the backfield, and it's not out of the question for the veteran to get moved ahead of the Nov. 10 trade deadline if the team doesn't have a need for him once he's fully healthy.

Cardinals' Tyler Allgeier: Three carries in blowout loss
Allgeier rushed three times for seven yards and caught both of his targets for nine yards during Sunday's 45-21 loss to the Lions.
Allgeier was on the field for 32 offensive snaps, but he only had five touches in the contest. In comparison, rookie running back Jeremiyah Love turned 12 carries into 22 yards over his 34 offensive snaps in the defeat. Allgeier has rushed 35 times for 119 yards and a touchdown while reeling in all 12 of his targets for 44 yards over five contests this season, and he remains a valuable insurance policy for fantasy managers with Love on their roster.

Cardinals' Chad Ryland: Misses lone field goal vs. Detroit
Ryland made all three of his extra-point attempts but missed his lone field-goal try during the Cardinals' 45-21 loss to the Lions on Sunday.
Ryland failed to connect on a 53-yard field goal early in the third quarter, and the miss set the Lions up at mid field and ultimately led to a 39-yard touchdown pass from Jared Goff to Jameson Williams five plays later. Ryland has attempted one field goal or zero in three of Arizona's last four games, and both of his missed kicks this season have come from 50-plus yards. The Cardinals will travel to Los Angeles for a Week 6 NFC West showdown against the Rams on Oct. 18.

Cardinals' Kendrick Bourne: Five catches in loss
Bourne caught five of eight targets for 70 yards during Sunday's 45-21 loss to the Lions.
Bourne led the team in receiving yards, while his five snags and eight targets ranked second behind tight end Trey McBride's nine catches on 10 targets. The wide receiver stepped into a more prominent role due to Marvin Harrison (traded) being inactive, and Bourne figures to operate as the team's clear No. 2 option behind Michael Wilson moving forward.

Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Pads stats late in loss
Brissett completed 29 of 47 passes for 292 yards with three touchdowns and one interception while adding two rushes for 19 yards and a seven-yard reception on his only target in the Cardinals' 45-21 loss to the Lions on Sunday.
Brissett's final stat line was deceptively impressive and largely the byproduct of plenty of production amassed over the final two drives when Arizona was already down by more than three touchdowns. The veteran signal-caller capped off both of those possessions with scoring tosses to tight ends, connecting with Teagan Quitoriano (13 yards) and Trey McBride (nine yards). Brissett had previously recorded a two-yard scoring strike to Quitoriano back in the first quarter as well, and the former finished with a season high in passing yards and touchdown passes. Brissett next faces the tough challenge of the Rams' talented secondary in a Week 6 road matchup next Sunday.

Cardinals' Michael Wilson: Limited by Lions in loss
Wilson brought in four of seven targets for 30 yards and completed his only pass attempt for seven yards in the Cardinals' 45-21 loss to the Lions on Sunday.
Wilson wasn't able to approach his usual elevated numbers against a Lions defense that had struggled against the pass. The typically busy receiver still finished tied for third in targets and also slotted in third in receptions, but Wilson ultimately generated his second-lowest reception and receiving yardage tallies of 2026. Marvin Harrison was traded to the Texans earlier Sunday, so despite Wilson's quiet afternoon, fantasy managers now know Wilson will have one fewer competitor for targets from Jacoby Brissett moving forward.
