Cardinals' Bam Knight: Earns 10 more touches with Love absent
Knight accrued seven carries for 48 yards and reeled in three of five targets for 15 yards during Sunday's 30-16 defeat to the Broncos.
With Jeremiyah Love (ankle) sidelined for a second consecutive contest, Tyler Allgeier and Knight again were tasked with manning the Cardinals backfield. Allgeier earned 11 touches to Knight's 10 on Sunday, but the latter out-gained him by 14 yards from scrimmage (63 vs. 49). It was the second week in a row in which Knight churned out more yardage than Allgeier on fewer touches, and even if Love is able to return in Week 8 at Dallas, Knight could begin to put himself in position for regular snaps moving forward, if he hasn't already.

Cardinals' Bam Knight: Love out again for Week 7
Jeremiyah Love (ankle) will be sidelined for Sunday's game against the Broncos, so Knight and Tyler Allgeier will be used in tandem in Love's absence, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
It was an 18-15 split in carries between Allgeier and Knight during the Cardinals' Week 6 win over the Rams, but Knight was far more efficient with his touches, finishing with 80 yards compared to Allgeier's 38. Knight is averaging 6.2 yards per carry this season, and he and Allgeier are facing a Denver defense Sunday that ranks 31st in the league in rushing yards allowed per game (139.8).

Cardinals' Bam Knight: Outplays Allgeier in Love's absence
Knight rushed 15 times for 80 yards and caught both of his targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 18-16 win over the Rams.
Knight got an extended opportunity in the absence of Jeremiyah Love (ankle) and was far more efficient than Tyler Allgeier, who mustered just 38 rushing yards on 18 rushing attempts. Love figures to reclaim the lead role in Arizona's backfield upon his return, which could come as soon as Week 7 against the Broncos, but Knight could get a sizable workload should Love remain sidelined. Prior to Sunday's win, Knight had just three carries and no targets all season.

Cardinals' Bam Knight: Moves up depth chart
Knight will bump up the Cardinals' RB depth chart in Week 6 with Jeremiyah Love (ankle) ruled out, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Knight still will be situated behind Tyler Allgeier, but the former nonetheless is the No. 2 back for as long as Love is sidelined. For his career, Knight has tallied 173 carries for 614 yards (3.5 YPC) and five touchdowns and hauled in 36 of 46 targets for 268 yards and another TD in 26 games.

Cardinals' Bam Knight: Uneventful performance in win
Knight played three offensive snaps and three special-teams snaps in Sunday's 26-14 win over the Chargers.
Despite a solid preseason, Knight did not see much action in Sunday's regular-season opener. The running back was simply an emergency option behind first-round rookie Jeremiyah Love and Tyler Allgeier. Knight will likely remain in a similar role during a Week 2 home matchup against the Seahawks.

Cardinals' Bam Knight: Impressive to open preseason
Knight rushed 12 times for 60 yards in the Cardinals' 33-30 preseason loss to the Panthers on Thursday. He also fumbled once but recovered.
The journeyman back is looking to run it back with the Cardinals after making a positive impression during an injury-riddled 2025 for the Arizona backfield. Knight started Thursday's game and saw action into the first drive of the second half, fumbling at the end of his longest run of the night -- 15 yards -- late in the second quarter but falling back on the ball. Knight finished as the team leader in rushing yards, but he figures to have an uphill battle to stick on the final roster in a very crowded running back room headlined by rookie first-round pick Jeremiyah Love along with Tyler Allgeier, James Conner (foot) and Trey Benson.

Cardinals' Bam Knight: Staying with Arizona
Knight is re-signing with the Cardinals on a one-year contract, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Knight was Arizona's lead runner at one point in 2025, but only after James Conner (foot) and Trey Benson (knee) both suffered season-ending injuries. Conner and Benson still are under contract, now joined by free-agent addition Tyler Allgeier. It doesn't look good for Knight landing any higher than third or fourth on the depth chart come training camp. He should at least be healthy, having reportedly avoided surgery on the ankle injury that ended his 2025 season in December.

Cardinals' Bam Knight: Shut down for season
The Cardinals placed Knight (ankle) on injured reserve Tuesday, Zach Gershman of the team's official site reports.
Knight played just one snap in Sunday's 40-20 loss to the Texans before exiting the contest with a left ankle sprain. While follow-up tests revealed no structural damage, his sprain is significant enough to sideline him for the final three games of the season. With Knight joining James Conner (foot) and Trey Benson (knee) on injured reserve, Arizona will be left with Michael Carter and Emari Demercado as its primary backfield options. Knight will be a restricted free agent this offseason after he gained 269 yards on 82 carries (3.3 YPC) and four touchdowns to go with 160 yards and another score on 22 catches over 12 appearances for Arizona.
