Kings' Mario Kempe: Bound for KHL
Kempe has been placed on unconditional waivers by the Kings, which will allow him to head to the KHL, Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic reports.
Not to be confused with Adrian Kempe of the Kings, Mario has appeared in just 70 NHL games since being selected by the Flyers back in the 2007 draft. He has 13 points in those 70 NHL appearances, and there's a good chance Kempe never adds another.

Kings' Mario Kempe: Demoted to AHL
Kempe was placed on waivers for purpose of demotion to AHL Ontario on Sunday, Jon Rosen of Fox Sports West reports.
Kempe signed a one-year deal with the Kings this offseason knowing that he would be a borderline NHL forward heading into the 2019-20 campaign. He appeared in 70 games with the Coyotes and 57 with AHL Tucson over the two previous seasons. The 31-year-old forward should be on the shortlist of call-ups with any injuries to the NHL roster.

Kings' Mario Kempe: Joining brother in LA
Kempe signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Kings on Friday, Jon Rosen of Fox Sports West reports.
Kempe has suited up for the Coyotes so far in his two-year NHL career, appearing in 70 games at the NHL level while also seeing action in 10 games for AHL Tucson last season. All in all, Kempe has 13 points and 22 penalty minutes in his career. The Swede will join his brother Adrian Kempe -- who is also a forward -- in Los Angeles.

Kempe began the season with promising aspirations but saw his playing time drop considerably before he was sent to the minors Nov. 16. The KHL transplant notched seven points (two goals, five assists) during his stint in the minors, resulting in his promotion back to the top club. His first opportunity to draw in arrives Thursday against the Maple Leafs.
