    MacKinnon picked three apples Saturday in a 4-3 loss to Toronto. The points extended his season-opening home point streak to 28 games, which is tied for the sixth-longest at any point of the season in NHL history. MacKinnon has 62 assists this year. It is the second time he's had at least 60 in his career (2022-23), which puts him third on the team's record list. Only Peter Forsberg (five times) and Joe Sakic (three times) have accomplished that feat more in team history.

  • Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon: Roofs one in loss

    MacKinnon scored a goal on 11 shots in Thursday's 2-1 overtime loss to Detroit. The Avalanche buzzed the zone before Mikko Rantanen found MacKinnon in tight quarters in front of the net, and the center roofed the puck over Alex Lyon to give Colorado a 1-0 lead. The Avs were unable to hold on and lost their sixth decision in the last seven road games. The tally was MacKinnon's 34th and extended his point streak to five games, during which he has two goals and six assists.     MacKinnon recorded an assist, a team-high 10 shots and one block in Tuesday's 3-1 win over Vancouver. MacKinnon helped ice the game with a primary assist on Artturi Lehkonen's empty-net tally. The apple extended MacKinnon's point streak to four games and a season-long point streak on home ice to 27 contests. His 269 shots lead the Avalanche by a wide margin and rank second in the NHL behind only Boston's David Pastrnak.

MacKinnon banged away after his first shot was stopped and eventually snuck the puck over the goal line.
