DeAngelo logged a power-play assist in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Rangers in Game 5. DeAngelo earned the secondary helper on a Teuvo Teravainen tally in the second period. Prior to Thursday, DeAngelo had been held off the scoresheet in six straight games -- a defensively tight second-round series against the Rangers has limited many of the Hurricanes' top players. The 26-year-old blueliner is at nine points (five on the power play), 21 shots on net, 18 blocked shots, 15 hits and a plus-3 rating through 12 postseason outings.

DeAngelo dished out three assists -- two on the power play -- in Wednesday's 5-2 Game 2 win over Boston. • Hurricanes' Tony DeAngelo: Game-time call Thursday

DeAngelo (abdomen) might be ready to suit up against Toronto on Thursday with a decision to follow the game-day skate, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports. DeAngelo is set to return following a nine-game stint on the sidelines resulting from his abdominal injury. The blueliner has already racked up 40 points this year and could push to top his career high of 53 set back in 2019-20 while with the Rangers. Even if he doesn't quite reach that mark, DeAngelo figures to be a top-end fantasy target once restored to the lineup.

  • Hurricanes' Tony DeAngelo: Facing lengthy absence

DeAngelo (abdomen) will be sidelined for "a month or so," Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports. With DeAngelo almost certainly headed to injured reserve, Jaccob Slavin will likely be tasked with taking on an increased role with the man advantage for the foreseeable future.

DeAngelo produced a power-play goal and two assists -- including a man-advantage helper -- in Friday's 6-3 win over the Rangers. In fact, there are only nine NHL defensemen with more points than DeAngelo, who has crafted seven goals and 24 assists through 30 games. He's also been remarkably consistent considering he's failed to record a point in just one game of 2022.
