  • Ducks' Frank Vatrano: Secures three-year deal

Vatrano signed a three-year, $10.95 million contract with Anaheim on Wednesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. Vatrano played in 22 games for the Rangers last year after joining the club at the trade deadline. In those contests, the 28-year-old winger recorded eight goals and five assists while averaging 15:18 of ice time. With the Ducks, Vatrano could be in line for a second-line role alongside Trevor Zegras, which would set him up well to potentially get over the 40-point mark for the first time.

  • Rangers' Frank Vatrano: Deposits lone goal in loss

Vatrano scored a power-play goal on three shots in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Lightning in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final. Vatrano fired a shot past Andrei Vasilevskiy at 13:07 of the third period, but Steven Stamkos restored the Lightning's lead for good 21 seconds later. The goal was Vatrano's second of the series and fifth of the postseason. The 28-year-old ended the playoffs with 13 points, 41 shots on net, 40 hits, 13 PIM and a minus-1 rating in 20 contests. He was a good fit in the Rangers' top six, but he is one of their six pending unrestricted free agent forwards.

Vatrano recorded a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 6-2 victory over the Lightning in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. • Rangers' Frank Vatrano: Supplies helper in Game 7

Vatrano logged an assist, two hits, two blocked shots and two PIM in Monday's 6-2 win over the Hurricanes in Game 7. Vatrano only saw 11:37 of ice time Monday, but there was no injury reported, so this may have been a matchup-based decision. He contributed a helper on Chris Kreider's insurance tally in the third period. Through 14 playoff outings, Vatrano has eight points, 28 shots on net, 26 hits, 20 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating. He's seen even-strength time on the top line, but his power-play time is limited to the second unit if he gets any at all.

  • Rangers' Frank Vatrano: First mini-drought in a month

Vatrano failed to record a point in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Islanders, and he's gone consecutive games without a point for the first time since March 17-19. Vatrano was last held off the scoresheet twice in a row in his first two games with the Rangers. He subsequently found chemistry with star skaters Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider, providing a simple shoot-first game that nicely complements Zibanejad's playmaking and Kreider's net-front presence. With seven goals and four assists in 18 games with the Rangers, Vatrano has solidified his spot on the top line, though he'll need to keep scoring to stay there.

  • Rangers' Frank Vatrano: Lights lamp twice Sunday

Vatrano scored two goals in Sunday's 5-4 overtime win over the Sabres. He struck twice inside the first five minutes of the first period, continuing a hot streak that's produced four goals in the last four games. The 28-year-old is skating with Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad at even strength while seeing shifts on the second power-play unit, a role that gives Vatrano some fantasy intrigue despite the fact he has only 14 goals and 23 points on the season through 55 games split between the Panthers and Rangers.

  • Rangers' Frank Vatrano: Acquired in trade

Vatrano was brought in by the Rangers from the Panthers on Wednesday in exchange for a 2022 fourth-round pick, David Dwork of Local 10 Miami reports. By moving Vatrano, the Panthers will give themselves some more cap flexibility heading into the trade deadline Monday and may not be done dealing. For his part, the Massachusetts native should be in the mix for a middle-six spot on the lineup, including possible challenge Dryden Hunt for a spot on the second line.

  • Panthers' Frank Vatrano: Fuels comeback win

Vatrano scored twice on four shots in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Sharks. Vatrano tied the game in the third period and won it 1:11 into overtime with his second multi-goal game of the campaign. He'd posted just five assists in his last 18 outings entering Tuesday's contest. Vatrano is up to 10 goals, 19 points, 105 shots on net, 48 hits and a minus-2 rating through 49 contests, though he's mainly limited to bottom-six minutes.

  • Panthers' Frank Vatrano: Snags helper in loss

Vatrano produced an assist in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Oilers. This was Vatrano's first point since Jan. 11 as he's had nine DNPs following the calendar flip to 2022. Florida reigns supreme in the Atlantic Division despite losing the last three contests, and there's been no indication that Vatrano, a third-line winger, merits additional ice time. The Boston native assumed power-play responsibilities earlier in the year but lately has been confined to sparse 5-on-5 action.

Vatrano cleared COVID-19 protocol and practiced Monday, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports. The second-liner should be in the lineup whenever Florida plays its next game. Vatrano has recorded six goals and three assists while averaging 11:57 of ice time in 28 contests this season.

The 27-year-old has nine points with a minus-7 rating through 28 games this season.

  • Panthers' Frank Vatrano: Game-time call Thursday

Vatrano (undisclosed) was absent from morning skate Thursday and will be a game-time decision for the evening's home game against the Kings, David Dwork of Local 10 Miami reports. There have yet to be official call-ups in the wake of Vatrano and star defenseman Aaron Ekblad (undisclosed) missing the morning session, as interim head coach Andrew Brunette said, "It's been a chaotic morning. I'll know more information as the day goes on." However, unlike Ekblad, there won't be too many fantasy managers sweating over Vatrano's status. He has just six goals and three assists through 28 games.

  • Panthers' Frank Vatrano: Nabs power-play assist in loss

Vatrano notched a power-play assist in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Avalanche. Vatrano helped out on Joe Thornton's goal at 7:41 of the third period. The assist snapped an eight-game point drought for Vatrano, who has struggled to find consistency in a bottom-six role this year. He's at nine points, 59 shots on net, 29 hits and a minus-6 rating while averaging 11:53 of ice time per game.

  • Panthers' Frank Vatrano: Carries Panthers to victory

Vatrano registered two goals and an assist Saturday, helping the Panthers to a 5-4 win over the Wild. The Panthers have rattled off 10 straight wins at home with Vatrano, a third-line winger, being the latest hero in Sunrise. There are concerns about Vatrano's ability to remain productive offensively seeing as how he's only averaging 11:55 of ice time, but he's a nice budget option in DFS settings as the owner of six goals and two assists through 18 games.

  • Panthers' Frank Vatrano: Seals win with empty-netter

Vatrano scored an empty-net goal in Monday's 4-1 win over the Lightning in Game 5. Vatrano has struggled to get involved on offense in the first-round series. He has two points, 11 shots on net and a plus-3 rating through five contests. The 27-year-old has added eight hits and two PIM, but he'll need to show a bit more of a scoring touch to warrant a look as a DFS option.

  • Panthers' Frank Vatrano: Scores go-ahead goal

Vatrano scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Predators. Vatrano's tally at 7:15 of the third period put the Panthers ahead 5-4 and stood as the game-winner in a chaotic comeback. He snapped a three-game mini-slump with the goal. The 27-year-old winger is up to 18 tallies, seven assists, 148 shots on net, 60 hits and a plus-7 rating in 51 outings this year.
