Rangers' Frank Vatrano: First mini-drought in a month
Vatrano failed to record a point in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Islanders, and he's gone consecutive games without a point for the first time since March 17-19.
Vatrano was last held off the scoresheet twice in a row in his first two games with the Rangers. He subsequently found chemistry with star skaters Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider, providing a simple shoot-first game that nicely complements Zibanejad's playmaking and Kreider's net-front presence. With seven goals and four assists in 18 games with the Rangers, Vatrano has solidified his spot on the top line, though he'll need to keep scoring to stay there.... See More ... See Less

Vatrano scored two goals in Sunday's 5-4 overtime win over the Sabres.

The 28-year-old is skating with Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad at even strength while seeing shifts on the second power-play unit, a role that gives Vatrano some fantasy intrigue despite the fact he has only 14 goals and 23 points on the season through 55 games split between the Panthers and Rangers.... Rangers' Frank Vatrano: Acquired in trade
Vatrano was brought in by the Rangers from the Panthers on Wednesday in exchange for a 2022 fourth-round pick, David Dwork of Local 10 Miami reports.
By moving Vatrano, the Panthers will give themselves some more cap flexibility heading into the trade deadline Monday and may not be done dealing. For his part, the Massachusetts native should be in the mix for a middle-six spot on the lineup, including possible challenge Dryden Hunt for a spot on the second line.... See More ... See Less
Panthers' Frank Vatrano: Snags helper in loss
Vatrano produced an assist in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Oilers.
This was Vatrano's first point since Jan. 11 as he's had nine DNPs following the calendar flip to 2022. Florida reigns supreme in the Atlantic Division despite losing the last three contests, and there's been no indication that Vatrano, a third-line winger, merits additional ice time. The Boston native assumed power-play responsibilities earlier in the year but lately has been confined to sparse 5-on-5 action.... See More ... See Less

Panthers' Frank Vatrano: Game-time call Thursday
Vatrano (undisclosed) was absent from morning skate Thursday and will be a game-time decision for the evening's home game against the Kings, David Dwork of Local 10 Miami reports.
There have yet to be official call-ups in the wake of Vatrano and star defenseman Aaron Ekblad (undisclosed) missing the morning session, as interim head coach Andrew Brunette said, "It's been a chaotic morning. I'll know more information as the day goes on." However, unlike Ekblad, there won't be too many fantasy managers sweating over Vatrano's status. He has just six goals and three assists through 28 games.... See More ... See Less

Vatrano registered two goals and an assist Saturday, helping the Panthers to a 5-4 win over the Wild.
The Panthers have rattled off 10 straight wins at home with Vatrano, a third-line winger, being the latest hero in Sunrise. There are concerns about Vatrano's ability to remain productive offensively seeing as how he's only averaging 11:55 of ice time, but he's a nice budget option in DFS settings as the owner of six goals and two assists through 18 games.... Vatrano has struggled to get involved on offense in the first-round series. He has two points, 11 shots on net and a plus-3 rating through five contests. The 27-year-old has added eight hits and two PIM, but he'll need to show a bit more of a scoring touch to warrant a look as a DFS option.... See More ... See Less
