Meier (lower body) will draw into the lineup Friday against San Jose, per Sam Kasan of the Devils' official site. Meier was last in the lineup Nov. 14. He has five goals and 11 points in 14 contests this season. His return might lead to Nathan Bastian serving as a healthy scratch. Meier is projected to be utilized in a top-six role and should see time on the power play. The 27-year-old was red hot before getting hurt, scoring a goal in each of his last three appearances.... Devils' Timo Meier: Could play Friday
Coach Lindy Ruff said that Meier (lower body) has a chance to play Friday versus San Jose, Max Miller of The Hockey News reports. Meier has missed the last seven games, but he really wants to play Friday versus his ex-teammates from San Jose, as this will be his first opportunity to do so. Meier was dealt in late February and managed nine goals and 14 points in 21 games with the Devils in 2022-23 and has five goals and six assists in 14 games this season. Meier will likely be a game-time decision, so check closer to puck drop to see his status.... See More ... See Less -
Devils' Timo Meier: Might be an option for Friday
Meier (lower body) skated on his own Thursday and might be an able to return for Friday's game against San Jose, per Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site. Meier will still miss his seventh consecutive contest when the Devils face Philadelphia on Thursday, but coach Lindy Ruff seems encouraged by the 27-year-old forward's progress. Meier has five goals and 11 points in 14 outings this season. He was on a three-game goal-scoring streak before getting hurt, so it will be interesting to see if Meier can pick up where he left off once he recovers.... See More ... See Less -
Devils' Timo Meier: Solo skates Wednesday
Meier (lower body) completed a solo skating session Wednesday, Sam Kasan of the Devils' official site reports. Meier's continued absence from practice makes him a long shot, at best, to play in Thursday's matchup with the Flyers. With a back-to-back on the schedule, it's probably more likely that Meier will target a return versus Vancouver on Tuesday, though no official timeline has been announced by the team.... See More ... Devils' Timo Meier: Still not practicing
Meier (lower body) hasn't been cleared to practice Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports Monday. Meier has already missed five games due to his lower-body injury and almost certainly won't be in action versus the Islanders on Tuesday given this latest news. Prior to getting hurt, Meier was rolling with a three-game goal streak during which he racked up 12 shots. With six of his 11 points this season coming with the man advantage, Meier should be in line to retake his place with the No. 1 power-play unit once cleared to play.... See More ... See Less -
Devils' Timo Meier: Skating Saturday
Meier (lower body) is skating at practice Saturday, per Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site. The Devils are holding a limited skate with only two skaters and both goalies, but it's great news that Meier is back on the ice after he missed the last four games. Meier has five goals and 11 points in 14 games, including goals in each of his last three games. The Devils host Buffalo on Saturday, but it's unlikely that Meier's return is imminent.... Devils' Timo Meier: Facing short-term absence
Meier (undisclosed) will be out in the short term, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports. Meier will be evaluated when the Devils get back home. Meier was banged up during Tuesday's contest and is consequently a game-time decision Thursday versus Pittsburgh, per Sam Kasan of the Devils' official site. Meier has five goals and 11 points in 14 contests this season. He's done particularly well lately, finding the back of the net in each of his last three outings. If Meier can't play Thursday, then Max Willman might draw into the lineup.... See More ... See Less -

Devils' Timo Meier: Strikes on power play in loss
Meier scored a power-play goal on three shots, added two PIM and went minus-2 in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Avalanche. Meier's tally tied the game at 2-2. He'd been held without a point over the last two contests after the end of his six-game point streak. The 27-year-old winger has three goals, six helpers, 33 shots on net, 16 hits, 10 PIM and a minus-9 rating through 12 outings this season. Meier's shot volume is a bit low, and he's not throwing his body around as much, but the offense has been solid as he maintains a top-six role.... See More ... See Less -
Devils' Timo Meier: Pair of points in loss
Meier scored a goal on two shots, added an assist and logged four hits in Wednesday's 6-4 loss to the Capitals. Meier started the season slowly, but he's now picked up a goal and four helpers over his last three games. He was involved in the Devils' first two tallies Wednesday. The winger is up to five points, nine shots, 11 hits, eight PIM and an even plus-minus rating through six outings overall.... See More ... See Less -
Devils' Timo Meier: Helps out twice in OT victory
Meier registered a pair of assists in Friday's 5-4 overtime win against the Islanders. Meier ended up with three shots on goal, a minor penalty and a hit in his 20:42 of ice time. It wasn't all great, as he had a minus-3 rating. The Swiss-born forward had been scoreless in his first three games with a total of just four shots on net, so perhaps Friday's game will get him untracked. The Devils meet the Canadiens on Tuesday north of the border.... See More ... See Less -
Devils' Timo Meier: Inaccurate in season opener
Meier had one shot on goal and four hits in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Red Wings. Meier missed the net four times to go with his one shot on target, so he still needs to calibrate his shot, but the power forward displayed his usual physicality in the Opening Night win. Locked into an eight-year, $70.4 million contract after being acquired at last season's trade deadline, Meier is part of an exciting core in New Jersey that also includes centers Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier, winger Jesper Bratt and defenseman Dougie Hamilton.... Devils' Timo Meier: Ends season with two-point night
Meier assisted on the first goal of the game and scored on the power play in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to Carolina. Meier has not been the high-impact player New Jersey hoped it was getting at the trade deadline. Over 11 postseason games, Meier had just two goals and two assists. However, an optimist would note that he put up points in three straight games before the Devils were eliminated. We will never know if it was the start of a hot streak or just a blip after starting the playoffs with an eight-game slump.... See More ... See Less
