Evangelista was assigned to AHL Milwaukee on Monday.
The Predators returned seven players to the minors Monday to bulk up the Admirals for the Calder Cup Playoffs. Evangelista picked up nine goals and 32 assists in 49 AHL appearances this season. The 21-year-old forward notched seven goals and 15 points in 24 outings with Nashville during the 2022-23 campaign.

Evangelista scored early in the second period to reduce the Avalanche's lead to 3-2. The marker snapped his six-game goal-scoring drought, though he did record two assists in that span. Evangelista has finished his rookie season with seven goals and 15 points in 24 outings. The 21-year-old has also contributed nine goals and 41 points in 49 AHL contests with Milwaukee in 2022-23.

Both helpers came in the first period before Evangelista banged home a tally of his own midway through the second. The 2020 second-round pick snapped a five-game point drought with the performance, but the last time he hit the scoresheet was his four-point bonanza against Buffalo on March 21. Evangelista is proving his upside as he gets a look in a top-six role for the injury-ravaged Predators; the next step for the 21-year-old is to develop some consistency. Through his first 17 NHL games, he has six goals and 12 points.

Predators' Luke Evangelista: Steps up with four-point game
Evangelista provided two goals and two assists in Nashville's 7-3 victory over Buffalo on Tuesday.
The Predators had a 2-1 edge early in the second period when Evangelista took the game into his hands. He either tallied or contributed the primary assist on each of the next four goals, pushing the Predators up to a commanding 6-1 lead. Evangelista was quiet going into Tuesday's action, having been held off the scoresheet in four of his previous five outings. The 21-year-old rookie is looking great overall though, especially after his latest showing, with five goals and nine points in 11 appearances on the season.

Predators' Luke Evangelista: Expected to return
According to coach John Hynes, there's "a good chance" Evangelista (upper body) will return to the lineup Tuesday versus Detroit, Emma Lingan of the Predators' official site reports.
Unless the Predators release another update indicating otherwise, at this point it's probably safe to assume Evangelista will return to a top-six role against the Red Wings. The 21-year-old rookie has racked up two goals and four points through six contests with Nashville this season.

Evangelista has stepped right into a top-six role since he was recalled from AHL Milwaukee Feb. 28. The 21-year-old winger put the Predators on his back Monday, scoring twice in the third period to even the score at 3-3 and force overtime. He's picked up three points, 10 shots on net and a plus-3 rating through four NHL outings. If he continues to play a large role for a team that shipped out a lot of talent at the trade deadline, Evangelista could work his way onto the fantasy radar for the rest of the season.
