Pettersson scored an empty-net goal on three shots, added an assist and went plus-3 in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Flames. Pettersson earned his first multi-point effort since Nov. 9, though it took a post-game scoring change to confirm it. The empty-net tally was initially credited to Nikita Zadorov before it was changed to Pettersson in the end. The 25-year-old Pettersson is up to 10 goals, 32 points, 57 shots on net, 32 hits, 18 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating through 25 outings. Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Wraps in game-winning goal
Pettersson scored a goal on three shots, added two hits and blocked two shots in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Ducks. Pettersson scored on a wraparound in the first minute of the third period, and that goal was the game-winner. The center had produced just two assists over his last five contests since his last goal Nov. 16 versus the Flames. Pettersson helped out on a Brock Boeser goal late in the third period as the Canucks tried and failed to overcome a two-goal deficit. Pettersson had two assists in a 4-3 loss to Tampa Bay on Thursday. The helpers give Pettersson seven overall, which puts him in the same class as Daniel Sedin (2014-15) and Henrik Sedin (2013-14) as the only Canucks in the past 35 seasons to pick up six or more apples in their first four games of the season. Pettersson is off to an incredible start to the season and is quieting detractors who didn't think he was worthy of a first-round fantasy pick.
