  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Strong again in win

Luukkonen stopped 30 of 32 shots in Sunday's 3-2 shootout victory over Carolina. Luukkonen allowed just a pair of goals Sunday, a Tony DeAngelo tally early in the opening period and a Martin Necas power-play marker in the third, before blanking the Hurricanes in a shootout to earn the win. The 24-year-old Luukkonen has won five of his last six outings, posting an impressive .933 save percentage in that span. Overall, he's 17-14-2 with a .914 save percentage and 2.45 GAA this season. Luukkonen, who's started 12 of Buffalo's last 14 contests, figures to get the nod again Tuesday on the road versus the Panthers.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Sharp in Columbus

Luukkonen made 25 saves in Friday's 2-1 win over the Blue Jackets. Dmitri Voronkov got a puck past him on a Columbus power play midway through the first period, but otherwise, Luukkonen shut down the home squad's offense. The 24-year-old netminder has allowed two goals or fewer in 11 of 15 starts since rising to the top of Buffalo's depth chart in early January, going 9-6-0 over that stretch with a stellar 1.75 GAA and .936 save percentage.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Notches win in Montreal

Luukkonen turned aside 29 shots in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Canadiens. Montreal grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first period, but Buffalo emerged from the second with a 3-2 lead, and Luukkonen made it hold up. He hasn't been quite as sharp in February as he was in January, but he still sports a 2.19 GAA and .922 save percentage over his last six starts despite a lackluster 3-3-0 record over that stretch.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Tending twine Wednesday

Luukkonen will protect the road goal versus the Canadiens on Wednesday, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports. Luukkonen's run of 13 games without allowing more than three goals came to an end Monday versus the Ducks, but he'll get an immediate chance to bounce back. The Canadiens have scored 21 goals over their last six games but have just two wins to show for it in that span. It's a bit of a tough matchup for Luukkonen, but he's been a solid fantasy goalie lately.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Struggles Monday

Luukonen allowed four goals on 15 shots in Monday's 4-3 loss to Anaheim. Three of the Ducks' four goals came in the second period as Luukonen took the loss despite the Sabres outshooting Anaheim 37-15. It was a tough outing for the 24-year-old netminder, who hadn't allowed more than three goals in a game since Dec. 23 -- Luukonen came into the day 8-5-0 with a stellar .941 save percentage over his last 13 appearances. He's now 14-14-2 on the season with a .910 save percentage and 2.54 GAA through 31 outings.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Facing Ducks

Luukkonen will protect the home net Monday versus Anaheim, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports. Eric Comrie (illness) won't be in the lineup, so Buffalo recalled Dustin Tokarski from AHL Rochester on Monday to serve as Luukkonen's backup. The 24-year-old Luukkonen has stopped 63 of 65 shots en route to winning his past two starts. He has a 14-13-2 record this season with four shutouts, a 2.49 GAA and a .914 save percentage over 30 appearances. The Ducks sit 29th in the league with 2.56 goals per contest this campaign.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Strong play continues

Luukkonen made 30 saves in a 3-2 overtime win over the Wild on Saturday. Since the December break, Luukkonen has delivered an 8-5-0 record with three shutouts and just 21 goals allowed over those 13 games. UPL started the season behind the super-hyped Devon Levi, but he has ascended to the starter's role with strong performance after strong performance. Buffalo is 10 points from a wild-card spot with too much ground to make up, but Luukkonen can still help your fantasy squad.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Out Thursday with lower-body injury

Luukkonen, who was slated to start Thursday against Florida, is now expected to miss the game with a lower-body injury. He's regarded as day-to-day. Luukkonen started in the Sabres' previous four games, including his 33-save shutout over LA on Tuesday. He's 13-13-2 with a 2.51 GAA and a .913 save percentage in 29 contests this season. Dustin Tokarski, who was called up from AHL Rochester on Thursday, and Eric Comrie are projected to share the goaltending duties during Luukkonen's absence.

Luukkonen is set to start at home against Florida on Thursday. Luukkonen has also started in the Sabres' previous four games while posting a 2-2-0 record, 1.77 GAA and .939 save percentage. The 24-year-old is having a strong campaign overall with a 2.51 GAA and a .913 save percentage across 29 appearances, though insufficient support has left him with a mediocre 13-13-2 record. The Panthers, who are 18-7-2 on the road, figure to be a difficult opponent.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Blanks Kings for fourth shutout

Luukkonen made 33 saves in Tuesday's 7-0 rout of the Kings. The 24-year-old has been one of the NHL's top netminders since the calendar flipped to 2024. Three of Luukkonen's four shutouts on the season have come in his last eight starts, and over his last 11 outings he sports a 1.57 GAA and .944 save percentage. A lack of consistent goal support has also left him with a 6-5-0 record during that time, but the Sabres' offense might be waking up, having scored at least five goals in three of the team's last five contests.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Gets little help in loss

Luukkonen stopped 23 shots in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Blues. He allowed a goal in each period, but his teammates once again couldn't get much going at the other end of the ice. Luukkonen has lost four of his last five starts despite not allowing more than three goals in any of them -- in fact, he hasn't given up four or more goals in an outing since Dec. 23, going 6-5-0 in 11 starts since with a 1.75 GAA and .935 save percentage in that span.

The hot streak has improved his record to 12-12-2 with a 2.58 GAA and a. 910 save percentage. St. Louis has scored 2.84 goals per game, which ranks 26th in the NHL this season.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Tough loss against Stars

Luukkonen made 28 saves in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to Dallas. The 24-year-old netminder played well but once again got little support as the Sabres had trouble solving Jake Oettinger in the other crease. Luukkonen hasn't allowed more than three goals in an outing since the calendar flipped to 2024, posting a dazzling 1.57 GAA and .943 save percentage over his last nine starts, but Buffalo's struggles have left him with a 5-4-0 record over that stretch.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Among best over last 30 days

Luukkonen made 23 saves in a 5-2 win over the Sharks on Saturday. The Sharks beat him twice in a 2:36 span in the first period to take a 2-0 lead, but Luukkonen managed to get back on track. The 24-year-old netminder has been sharp since the December break, posting two shutouts and going 6-3-0 in nine starts. He has allowed three or more goals just twice in that span. How good has his performance been? Heading into the game, UPL was second only to Stuart Skinner in standard leagues over the last 30 days. And better than Thatcher Demko and Connor Hellebuyck. Luukkonen is still available in many leagues.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Allows three goals in loss

Luukkonen stopped 32 of 35 shots in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Ducks. The fourth goal was an empty-netter. Luukkonen was alright in the contest, but the Sabres took too long to get their offense going. The 24-year-old netminder has allowed no more than three goals in any of his last eight outings, and this was his sixth start in a row. Luukkonen is at 11-11-2 with a 2.63 GAA and a .908 save percentage through 25 appearances. He should continue to see the bulk of the starts, though youngster Devon Levi remains in the mix as well.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Second shutout in a row

Luukkonen made 20 saves in a 3-0 win over Chicago on Thursday. It was Luukkonen's second straight shutout. He made 28 saves in a 3-0 win against the Sharks on Monday. Since the break, Luukkonen has gone 5-1-0 in six starts, allowing just seven goals total. In addition to the two shutouts, he allowed just a single goal in a 1-0 loss in a goaltending duel with Thatcher Demko of the Canucks this past Saturday. Luukkonen has improved his save percentage to .909 and has emphatically seized the starter's role after some struggles earlier in the season. The Sabres need to win, and he's leading the way. Fantasy managers can begin to trust him again.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Blanks Sharks on Monday

Luukkonen stopped all 28 shots he faced in Monday's 3-0 win over San Jose. Luukkonen recorded his second shutout of the season, with the first coming against Colorado just before Halloween. The 24-year-old netminder has started three straight games and four of the last five, moving past Devon Levi on the Buffalo depth chart, and he's earned the top job by allowing just five goals on 120 shots (.958 save percentage) during those outings. However, he sports a less impressive 2.77 GAA and .906 save percentage to match his 10-9-2 record overall this season.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Takes tough loss against Canucks

Luukkonen made 22 saves in Saturday's 1-0 loss to Vancouver. Sam Lafferty banged home a greasy goal early in the second period, but Luukkonen was able to handle everything else the Canucks fired his way. Unfortunately for the Sabres, Thatcher Demko was just that much better in the other crease. It's Luukkonen's first regulation loss since Dec. 19, snapping a 3-0-1 run, and on the season the 24-year-old is 9-9-2 with a 2.91 GAA and .901 save percentage. He'll likely continue splitting duties with Devon Levi, barring a hot streak from one of the young netminders.
