  • Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Buries first NHL goal

Pettersson scored a goal, added two PIM and logged two hits in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Ducks. The goal was Pettersson's first at the NHL level, and it was his first point since March 5, which was also a game against the Ducks. The rookie defenseman has settled into a third-pairing role late in 2024-25. He doesn't have much of a scoring touch yet, picking up three points, 16 shots on net, 28 hits, 11 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating over his first 22 NHL contests.

  • Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Available Saturday

Pettersson (upper body) will be available versus the Blackhawks on Saturday, Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650 reports. Pettersson will avoid missing any time after taking a blow to the head against the Flames on Wednesday. Even with the youngster cleared to play, he could serve as a healthy scratch against Chicago, or beyond, if Tyler Myers (undisclosed) is also given the all-clear.

  • Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Won't finish contest

Pettersson (upper body) won't finish Wednesday's game versus the Flames. Pettersson took a hit to the back of his head in a scrum in the first period, though he wasn't officially ruled out for the game until the second intermission. With Tyler Myers (undisclosed) out of action Wednesday, the Canucks are facing a situation in which they may need to call up a blueliner for Saturday's game against the Blackhawks depending on the severity of Pettersson's injury.

  • Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Sends assist in win

Pettersson posted an assist and two shots on goal in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Ducks. Pettersson was back in the lineup after being a scratch Saturday versus the Kraken. The 21-year-old defenseman has earned two helpers over 11 appearances this season, and he's added 10 shots on net, 14 hits, seven blocked shots and a minus-1 rating. He's also seeing sheltered minutes in his first taste of NHL play, averaging 12:26 per game. He may be able to hold a spot in the lineup at least until Quinn Hughes (undisclosed) can return to action.

  • Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Added to NHL roster

Pettersson was promoted from AHL Abbotsford on Tuesday, per Jeff Paterson of CanucksArmy.com. Pettersson will be hard-pressed to get into the lineup against Vegas on Saturday, especially if Quinn Hughes (oblique) is cleared to play. As such, fantasy players are unlikely to be impacted by Pettersson's promotion. When he has gotten into action, the 21-year-old Swede has recorded one assist, six shots and 12 hits while averaging 12:50 of ice time.

  • Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Reassigned to minors

Pettersson was sent down to AHL Abbotsford on Monday. Pettersson will be hard-pressed to make another NHL appearance this season after the team acquired Marcus Pettersson and Victor Mancini from the Penguins and Rangers, respectively. In addition to Pettersson, the Canucks also shipped Mancini to the minors, moves that likely signal Quinn Hughes (undisclosed) will be ready to suit up against the Avalanche on Tuesday.

  • Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Snags helper for first career point

Pettersson logged an assist and two shots on goal in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Red Wings. The helper on Pius Suter's first-period tally was Pettersson's first career point. The 20-year-old defenseman had been scratched over the previous two contests, but Pettersson remains in the NHL even with recent trade acquisitions Marcus Pettersson and Victor Mancini on the roster. Quinn Hughes (undisclosed) was unavailable Sunday and Carson Soucy was a healthy scratch, but once the Canucks' blue line is healthy, Pettersson may end up being sent back to AHL Abbotsford.

  • Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Rises to NHL

Pettersson was called up from AHL Abbotsford on Wednesday. Pettersson is likely to serve as an extra defenseman during the remainder of Tyler Myers' suspension, which lasts two more games. Noah Juulsen (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding move. Pettersson has 13 points over 36 AHL outings this season.
