Polin made his NHL debut last season, recording a goal, 14 hits and two PIM while averaging 7:25 of ice time over seven appearances with the Avalanche. He's spent the start of the 2024-25 campaign with the AHL club, racking up seven goals and two assists over 21 games with the Eagles. Several of the Avalanche's forwards are dealing with injuries, so Polin will rejoin the NHL club and could see some time in the lineup.

The Avalanche had to dig deep on the second of a back-to-back set and fell behind 4-2 in the second period. Colorado got scoring from all corners of the roster, including Polin's first NHL tally. The fourth-line forward's snapshot beat Mads Sogaard to the far side 66 seconds after the Senators took a 2-1 lead. In five games since being called up from AHL Colorado, Polin has a goal, six shots, 10 hits and one block while averaging 7:33 TOI. With Artturi Lehkonen (neck) on the road trip and possible to return Thursday in Boston or Saturday in Philadelphia, Polin may lose his spot in the lineup soon.

Polin has yet to make his NHL debut after making the jump to the professional ranks at the end of the 2022-23 campaign. The 24-year-old winger has managed just one helper in 13 minor-league contests this year and figures to serve as an emergency depth option if Miles Wood (illness) is unable to play against Boston on Monday.
