  • Blues' Nikita Soshnikov: Will join team on trip

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1:41 pm ET) Soshnikov (concussion) will join the team on its upcoming road trip, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

Soshnikov's appearance on a three-game road trip could suggest that he has a chance to return at some point during it, though the team hasn't disclosed whether or not that's the case. He will likely return to a bottom-six role when healthy.

Blues' Nikita Soshnikov: Continues practicing with squad

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(10/11/18) Soshnikov (concussion) participated in Thursday's morning skate ahead of a home game against the Flames, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

Soshnikov has been working with the team for over a week now but he won't play Thursday and the timeline for when he can take contact is still hazy. The Blues could use the grit that Soshnikov brings to the bottom-six since he brings more offensive upside than enforcer Chris Thorburn.

Blues' Nikita Soshnikov: Participates fully in practice

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(10/5/18) Soshnikov (concussion) was a full participant in Friday's practice, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

Soshnikov said he's been skating for the past six weeks and he finally joined the team three days ago. He still needs to pass through the league's protocol before he can start taking contact and enter the lineup. The 24-year-old tops out as a fourth-line winger with little fantasy upside.

    Blues' Nikita Soshnikov: Suffers concussion

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/13/18) Soshnikov has been ruled out for the start of training camp after sustaining a concussion.

Heading into camp, Soshnikov figured to have the inside track for a fourth-line role; however, an extended stint on the sidelines could open the door for a handful of players to compete for the job -- including Samuel Blais, Chris Thorburn and Jordan Nolan.

Blues' Nikita Soshnikov: Signs extension with St. Louis

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(6/24/18) Soshnikov signed a one-year, one-way contract extension with the Blues on Sunday, according to his agent, Dan Milstein.

Soshnikov played in only 12 games last season for the Blues after being traded from Toronto, collecting two points on one goal and one assist -- unfortunately, an upper-body injury largely cut into his potential. However, the Russian is still only 23 years old and only one year removed from the 2016 season with Toronto when he scored five goals and racked up four assists in 56 games. He might be worth keeping tabs on if he can stay healthy, but his value to fantasy owners seems to have a relatively low ceiling.
